While Matt Treanor has done a terrific job, and Mike Rabelo has shown signs of being productive, there is a concern if Treanor, who has never played as much in the big leagues as he has this season, will hold up. So adding a veteran for a playoff push is something the team is reviewing. An ideal candidate, although he may be a long shot to acquire, is Pudge Rodriguez. If the Tigers get back into the thick of the race, then obviously, he likely won't be moved. Paul Lo Duca, who recently came off the disabled list with Washington, is another possibility. Internally, some pitching help appears on the way.
