Game 39: Eaton vs. Sanchez

The Phils head into the rubber game for this series in San Francisco and the seven-game swing out West after reportedly getting hammered by the Giants and young ace Tim Lincecum yesterday. Adam Eaton tries to shore up his job security today after taking the loss in Arizona Tuesday night. Eaton's seasonal ERA has risen after all but one of his starts in 2008, and now sits at 5.63. He hasn't fared very well against the Giants, with a 3-6 lifetime mark and 5.34 ERA that includes a gruesome 11.57 ERA in his last four games facing San Fran. Lefty Jonathan Sanchez, who's notched 44 strikeouts in 38 innings this season, goes for the Giants.  more...
