Sergio Garcia wins THE PLAYERS in playoff
Sergio Garcia fought for his biggest tournament victory of his career, beating Paul Goydos in a one-hole playoff at THE PLAYERS Championship.Garcia started the day three back and shot a final round 71, one-under par. Garcia started the day with a bogey and finished the front nine one-over par, but gained a shot on leader Goydos. Goydos shot two-over on the front nine with three bogeys and a birdie over a four hole stretch. He rebounded with birdies on the 10th and 12th holes to take a three stroke lead through 13 holes over Garcia, who made two birdies and a bogey at that point. The 14th hole brought a two stroke swing as Garcia birdied the hole to Goydos' bogey. With a one-shot advantage and four holes to play, Goydos finished bogey-birdie-par-bogey to finish tied with Garcia. The playoff was on the par-3 17th hole and its the island green. Garcia won with a par.
