The victory sends the Americans to the Confederations Cup final, and snaps Spain’s 15-game winning streak. Spain hadn’t been beaten since a loss to Romania in November 2006. The United States is ranked 14th and was nearly eliminated after losing its first two games in the eight-nation Confederations Cup, a World Cup warm-up.

Wow and I thought they had used up all their luck with that 3-0 rout of Egypt (and simultaneous 3-0 Brazil over Italy outcome). They will most likely play Brazil in the final (I can't see Brazil losing to South Africa). Hopefully this win over such a strong competitor like Spain will give them the confidence to take on a Brazilian powerhouse.

Whoa, let's not get ahead of ourselves! LOL They still have to contend with Brazil in the final and they lost 0-3 the last time they met. But winning the Confed Cup would definitely put the world on notice!
