Alasdair Gold in his latest YouTube video has discussed Ryan Mason and his future managerial prospects at Tottenham.

The former Spurs midfielder became the caretaker manager after Jose Mourinho was fired and was more than capable in the dugout despite being just 29-year-old at the at time.

Antonio Conte has reportedly been left impressed by Ryan Mason’s training sessions and according to Alasdair Gold, the club hopes to see him manage the club in the near future.

Speaking about whether Spurs are looking at Mason as a managerial candidate, Gold said:

“I think they hope so, I do think they hope so. Let’s not forget he was Spurs manager at 29, the caretaker boss and I know people grumbled at the time, he did pretty well in the circumstances, the players respected him and his training sessions were supposed to be superb. Conte witnessed one of his training sessions when he first arrived and that sold him on Mason.

I imagine Ryan Mason will want to be a manager sooner rather than later, I just wonder if he has to leave Spurs first to come back.”

Mason clearly has Daniel Levy’s approval, and the fact that he has impressed Conte speaks volumes about his ability as a coach. However, despite the report suggesting that he could be considered as Conte’s replacement when the Italian leaves, he does need more experience before he is ready for the Spurs job.
