This past summer Alex Morgan won countless guys’ hearts, as she ascended to soccer greatness during the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup. She was exactly what women’s soccer needed: a young, smart, and beautiful star who was dangerously good on the soccer field. Alex is not only stunning, but she also proved that she is one of the brightest stars in the game. During the World Cup all media outlets were flooded with news of Alex Morgan. Unfortunately, a lot of her popularity has since fallen. But I am here with good news… Alex Morgan is back. If you haven’t picked up the new Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, go do it!

As a kid, the Swimsuit Edition was my favorite part of February. I would look forward to the day the special edition magazine came out, and make sure my dad picked me up an issue as soon as possible. This fascination has still not gone away and I could not have been more excited to see Kate Upton on the cover of this year’s issue. But let’s be honest here, Alex Morgan stole the show. Her spread of body paint pictures is hands down the best part of the magazine (I wish she would come to a UCLA paint party one of these days). Its crazy to think that such a talented athlete could be so good looking as well. Her body and natural beauty complement that cute smile she always shows =). Alex Morgan is a goddess and that is that.

Women’s soccer is usually not a concern among the American people. The sport in general has had a hard time getting publicity in this country, and it has been even harder to spark interest in the woman’s game. This past summer was truly amazing. The US team was so likeable that America idolized these heroes with Alex as the poster child for the team. Even if she has remained under the radar since then, this Sports Illustrated issue will surely bring her back to the public’s eye. Alex Morgan is as close to perfect compared to any other athlete I have ever seen. Guys (and girls) everywhere should be ecstatic, and should go look up those pictures right away.
