Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti says that the Spanish giants are in talks with Tottenham over the signing of Gareth Bale.
Sky Sports revealed earlier this week that a world record bid in excess of Â£85million had been made by Real late last week.
Real are in the United States on a pre-season tour and speaking from their Los Angeles base, Ancelotti revealed that talks are taking place.
"It is difficult to talk about Bale because at the moment he is not a Real Madrid player," Ancelotti told a news conference.
"I believe the club is in talks to find a solution and we will see what happens. I am not used to talking about players who are not in my team and it would not be right to do so."
Should Spurs agree to the deal it would represent a world-record fee and eclipse Real's own record, which they hold for the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United in 2009 when they paid Â£80million.
