Asamoah Gyan talked Andre Ayew into returning to the Black Stars
Andre Ayew has revealed how phone calls from Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan convinced him into returning to the Black Stars.
The Olympique Marseille disclosed to the media frantic efforts made by the Al Ain ace to have him return to the national team on the eve of Ghana’s 2-1 win over Zambia in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
Ayew had called temporary time on his international career – stating he had problems with members of the Black Stars management committee.
Ghana President John Mahama amongst other influential people helped in the process of convincing the 2009 Ghana U20 World Cup winning captain and his younger brother Jordan into rescinding their decision to leave the Black Stars.
But it was the telephone conversations from captain Asamoa Gyan that according to Andre showed how much he was missed and needed back in the team.
