FIFA president Sepp Blatter believes Bayern Munich and the Bundesliga can be role models to the rest of the world. Speaking to Munich's Tz newspaper, the Swiss heaped praise on Bayern's treble-winning exploits whilst also praising the way the Bundesliga is run. "What Bayern achieved last year was simply amazing," he said. "It was not only successful football, but it was above all technically beautiful football." With Bayern and Borussia Dortmund contesting last season's Champions League final, the state of the German game has never been so healthy. With some of the lowest ticket prices, the biggest crowds and, at the same time, profitable and well-run clubs, the Bundesliga is leading the way, according to Blatter. "The clubs are absolutely healthy in terms of finances and there are many big players in the teams, while they are also successful in Europe," he added.
