It was a disappointing outing for Chelsea as they fell to Napoli 3-1 at the San Paolo. Chelsea defeat could be one of two reasons; it is either coach Andre Villas-Boas did not heed to the Azzurri, Partenopei striker Edinson Cavani’s warning or he did not take the advice of Frank Lampard.
The Uruguay striker sent out a strong message to the Blues, and guess what? He was on target on the night, with two other goals coming from Ezequiel Lavezzi.
“We have already sent out a message to the world: we can defeat anyone,” Cavani told Mediaset Premium a week ago.
“Chelsea must be careful with us.”
A team that came out of “the group of death” which included Villareal and Manchester City should never have been taken lightly, but with the squad excluding experienced players like Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard in the early exchanges, Villas-Boas definitely shot himself in the foot.
