Chelsea still want to sign Wayne Rooney despite their interest in Samuel Eto’o. A new bid for Rooney around the £40million mark is expected to be lodged after Manchester United and Chelsea clash at Old Trafford tonight. Blues boss Jose Mourinho refuses to accept United’s insistence that the England striker is not for sale and said: “Now we are quiet we have no contact. Nothing nothing at all. Tuesday we will have another feeling. “The transfer window closes in one week or 10 days or whatever. “After 10 days everything is over and for five months nobody speaks again about transfers. “So I think if in this moment we want to upset them as some people were saying now we’d be making a bid for the player every day - before the match.” If Chelsea fail to sign Rooney this summer they will return for him in January and then again next summer if necessary.
