Luis Michel saved a last-minute penalty from U.S. international Herculez Gomez as Chivas of Guadalajara ended its 13-game winless streak by defeating Santos Laguna 2-1 on Sunday in the eighth round of Mexico's first division .
The win came a day after Dutch great Johan Cruyff was officially announced as a part-time advisor at Mexico's most successful club .
Morelia's 2-0 win against Cruz Azul moved it into first position in the Clausura tournament and inflicted Cruz Azul's first defeat of the season, while America won 4-0 against Atlante and moves into second.
