With the transfer window now closed, it seems that Arsenal has signed the most impressive player in the window.  Mesut Ozil joins Arsenal on a long term contract consisting of 5 years which is worth £150,000-£200,000 a week along with bonuses on top as well.  Arsenal has captured the best playmaker in the world and it seems an exciting prospect for Arsenal fans who can’t wait to see their new signing take the pitch for the first time. Mourinho and Ozil on the touchline for their former club Real Madrid. As quoted by Jose Mourinho, “I did not accept Arsenal’s offer for Demba Ba because added to their signing of Ozil, they would have been title contenders,” Mourinho said according to the Daily Mail.  He then goes to praise his former player, “Ozil is unique. There is no copy of him – not even a bad one. He is the best number 10 in the world. He makes things very easy for me and for his team-mates with his football vision and the decisions he makes. Everyone loves him and sees a bit of Luis Figo and Zinedine Zidane in him.”  With praises like this from a former and now rival coach makes it all the more envy for other teams that would wish they could’ve added a player like Ozil to their ranks.  Ozil is possibly the best no.10 in the world at the moment and seems to be a natural playmaker that can and will contribute more assists and opportunities for the Arsenal strikers to score more goals. With the coming of a new signing, a coach usually tries to include them into the first team squad by the choosing the formation that will best suit the team and him to play his natural game.  Arsene Wenger uses a double pivot formation in a 4-2-3-1 with Olivier Giroud leading the attack.  You can expect Ozil to lineup in the no.10 role just as he did in his time at Real Madrid.  This will push Santi Carzola and Walcott out on the flanks to provide width.  Then behind him will be a double pivot of either Wilshere, Ramsey, or Arteta.  Ozil will have excellent support all over to allow him to freely play his game and excel on his 16 goals and 35 assists for his former team last season. Along with Arsenal’s style of play, it suits Ozil’s gameplay as he prefers to control the match with his technique and vision.  Here is a quote from his new coach, Arsene Wenger.  ”He [Ozil] is a great player, with proven quality at both club and international level. We have watched and admired him for some time as he has all the attributes I look for in an Arsenal player.”  Arsene Wenger has been waiting all summer for a chance to pounce on a proven quality with targeting players like Wayne Rooney, Luis Saurez, and Gonzalo Higuian with all of them failing to convert into real possibilities of joining the club.  Now, Mesut Ozil is at the club and it seems that the Arsenal supporters have faith in Arsene Wenger and the board after not wanting to spend the coveted ‘war chest’ that has been hidden for so many years.
