The threat of legal action for defamation has forced midfielder has forced Lille midfielder Joey Barton into issuing a public apology to Liverpool legend Dietmar Hamann.
On Monday, Hamann and Barton were involved in an angry exchange on Twitter, and, predictably, Barton went way over the top and hurled a serious of vicious personal insults at Liverpool's Champions League hero.
