Jamie Carragher insists Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was right to make want-away striker Luis Suarez train on his own this week following the Uruguayan's controversial interview with the media.
Suarez reiterated his desire to leave Anfield for a Champions League club and accused Rodgers of making false promises something which the Liverpool boss vehemently denies.
And Carragher who retired at the end of last season after spending his entire professional career with the five-time European champions feels Rodgers was left with no choice but to come down hard on the 26-year-old whose pre-season performances have been unusually lacklustre.
"I know Luis and I've played with him in the last couple of years and he's a warrior. He's a fighter on the pitch and every day in training. He never misses a session" Carragher told Sky Sports News.
