Michael Essien is starting for Real Madrid
Ghana ace Michael Essien has been handed a starting role in his last match for Real Madrid against Osasuna on Saturday night.
The match at the Santiago Bernabeu coincidentally is part of the final league match for the Spanish La Liga season.
Essien was loaned out by Chelsea on last summer’s transfer deadline day upon the request of departing Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho.
The versatile will return to Stamford Bridge after the match and possibly reunite with Mourinho again.
He has made over 30 appearances for Los Blancos in all competitions but could not win a silverware.
Real Madrid failed the league title they won last season and got eliminated from the UEFA Champions League by Borussia Dortmund at the semi-final stage.
They were beaten by their city-rivals Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey final.
