In a summer in which Premier League clubs have started to wrestle back some of the power from players and their agents when it comes to forcing transfers Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is the latest manager to take an uncompromising stance with an unsettled star.
Pardew admits he has endured one of the toughest weeks of his reign at St James’ Park following Arsenal’s £10.2 million bid for Cabaye which prompted the Frenchman to withdraw from the side thrashed by Manchester City on Monday night.
An anticipated bid from Paris St-Germain has still not been received and following a meeting with owner Mike Ashley and director of football Joe Kinnear in the south of France this week Pardew was in bullish mood.
Pardew said he was “not resigned” to Cabaye leaving ahead of Saturday's first home game of the season against West Ham United. “Because you cannot go on a forecourt of a car showroom and say to the dealership: ‘Here is what my valuation is and I’m just going ...

Arsenal’s “derisory” offer for Yohan Cabaye is strange, not disrespectful - originally posted on Soccerlens.comArsenal this week turned their attentions to Newcastle United’s French midfielder and tabled an offer which the Magpies’ boss, Alan Pardew, called “disrespectful”.
Pardew was apparently upset at the timing of the offer, coming one day before his club’s match...
Alan Pardew talked today and said that Arsenal had not come back with an improved bid for Yohan Cabaye, and it seems the Newcastle manager still carries some hope that Yohan Cabaye will still be a Newcastle player come September 3rd, the day after the summer transfer window closes. Yohan Cabaye – no new Arsenal […]
There’s a report in French newspaper L’Equipe today that PSG have decided to end their pursuit of Newcastle central midfielder Yohan Cabaye, and that could be good news for Newcastle. Yohan Cabaye – report that PSG have pulled out of the race As it turns out the Arsenal bid of £12M for Yohan Cabaye was […]
Moussa Sissoko can play as a box-to-box midfielder, so that if Yohan Cabaye again refuses to play for Newcastle this afternoon (that will not be good), then Moussa will get a chance to show what he can do in that position. Moussa Sissoko – could get box-to-box role today if Cabaye is absent That’s player […]
News today that despite reports to the contrary, Newcastle United midfielder and play-maker Yohan Cabaye is not close to joining French club Paris Saint-Germain. Yohan Cabaye – not close to leaving Newcastle It seems obvious the 22 times capped Frenchman wants to leave Newcastle for better things, and because of that most Newcastle fans are […]
Arsenal are supposed to have put in a bid of around €12M (£10.2M) for Newcastle’s Yohan Cabaye last Sunday, but Newcastle immediately rejected the offer, which was nowhere close to the club’s valuation of their French Intentional, who cost €5M when he was signed from Lille two years ago. Yohan Cabaye – could stay if […]
Newcastle United chief scout Joe Kinnear watched Andre Ayew on Saturday
Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew sent scout to watch Ghana winger Andre Ayew in action for Olympique Marseille on Saturday ahead of a proposed move to the Tyneside side.
Newcastle chief scout Joe Kinnear was in the stands at the Stade du Hainaut in Valenciennes to see the 23-year-old in action for Les Olympians...
We may be setting the bar really low at the moment, but we were pleased Newcastle didn’t end up on the losing side today, although Gouffran missed an absolute sitter with one minute to go in added time, but that would have given Newcastle a lucky win today – but we would have taken it. […]
Bad news again today that Yohan Cabaye is not included in the squad for today’s vital home game against West Ham – are we still paying this player? But Alan Pardew makes four changes to the side that was torn apart at the Etihad Stadium on Monday night, and Davide Santon, Vurnon Anita, Sylvain Marveaux […]
Whether you rate Alan Pardew as a manager or not, you have to sympathise with the Newcastle manager at least a little but in that Newcastle sold Demba Ba in early January and its now almost nine months later and we haven’t replaced him. Demba Ba – has not been replaced after nine months – […]
Even though Newcastle made an absolutely terrible start to the season on Monday night, the St. James’ Park crowd on Saturday against West Ham will be a full house of around 52,300 fans, such is the passion for football on Tyneside. Alan Pardew – judge us after next two games The lack of firepower up […]

As we all know, Arsenal have been inactive thus far in the transfer market. Only young striker Yaya Sanogo has been signed up.
