Asamoah Gyan extends 'insane' goalscoring spree in the UAE
Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan extended his astonishing goalscoring spree despite missing a penalty in Al Ain’s 2-1 win over Al Wahda in the UAE Pro League.
Gyan struck late to pick all three points for the champions on Monday to rack up his 20th goal out of 12 matches played this season.
The 27-year-old’s however revived the skeletons in his closet by missing a first half penalty and an opportunity to extend Al Ain’s lead after Alex Brosque had opened the scoring after just five minutes.
The champions were however dealt a devastating blow in the 71st minute when Al Wahda pulled level through Saeed Al Kathiri.
But Gyan, the ‘Baby Jet’ came good in the 81st minute to snatch the win much to the delight of the expectant crowd at the Tanoun Bin Mohammed Stadium.
The former Udinese, Renne and Sunderland hitman is now just two goals away from equaling his 22 goal harvest in his debut season in the UAE Pro League last term.
