Spurs striker Shehu Adebayor
Reports in the Brtish media reveal that Tottenham offered Chelsea Emmanuel Adebayor for Fernando Torres on transfer deadline day.
Jose Mourinho is said to be a fan of the Togolese striker, but it seems the Portuguese coach preferred to stay with Torres, who last Friday scored an important goal in the UEFA Super Cup.
The Blues were also not keen on swapping attackers in the final moments of the transfer window and that thwarted Andre Villas Boas’ attempts to offload Adebayor for Fernando Torres, who he coached at Chelsea.
The 29-year old former Manchester City striker will therefore remain with the North London club at least for another season.
