According to Alasdair Gold of Football London, Japhet Tanganga and Bryan Gil could both leave Tottenham Hotspur in January.

Gold provided an update on Spurs’ potential winter transfer business on his YouTube channel claiming that the pair do not appear to be in Antonio Conte’s plans at the moment.

This is surprising considering Conte was the one who blocked Bryan Gil’s move to Valencia on deadline day. Conte told Football London: “We are talking about players that are really good prospects, but I was very clear with the club if someone go on loan, another player has to come in.”

Conte also reportedly also insisted on keeping Tanganga despite him being linked with a move away all summer. But despite Conte’s efforts to keep the pair at the club, neither player has been given a chance this season.

Tanganga has only played 18 minutes for Tottenham this season, coming on as a substitute against Marseille in the Champions League, while Gil has yet to play a minute.

The young Spaniard will be especially disappointed because he has been demoted from Spain’s senior squad to the under-21 squad ahead of the World Cup.

And now, Gold has suggested that both the players could leave the club in January. Gold said:

“As for January, I think they have to [make additions].”

“Bryan Gil isn’t going to sit there for the whole season on the bench, just doodling on a piece of paper or whatever it is they get him to do on there!

“He’s going to want to go in January and get football, if he’s not playing, and the moment he goes ‘okay that’s fine, I want him replaced’.

“I wonder if Japhet will be similar. Tanganga will probably want football in January as well, so just by the nature of it, the January window has to have transfers in it.”
