Barcelona forward David Villa suffered a gruesome fractured tibia in Thursday’s Club World Cup semifinal victory against Al Sadd.
Barca won the match 4-0, but they’ll lose Villa for up to five months. The striker is scheduled to have surgery this week.
Although he’ll obviously miss Barca’s Club World Cup final, the bigger fear is Villa won’t be able to play for Spain in the European Championships next year. Villa posted the following message on the YouTube page with the video of him breaking his leg.
“Hi all! Thanks for your support!!! This injury is a big blow, but I’m convinced to recover quick. I will work hard for that!!!
I’m focusing on the Munich final (I know my mates will get me there) and the Euro. Count on me!!! Tomorrow back in Spain. Hugs!”
If you’re queasy, you might want to leave this one alone.

Premise of Video: It’s a slow-motion replay of Barcelona forward David Villa breaking his leg on Thursday against Qatar’s Al Sadd. It isn’t pretty.
Climax of Video: You can see just when the break occurs, the bone splitting and then slightly protruding from under his sock.
Conclusion: We bet that ******* hurt!
