Inter Milan’s attacking midfielder, Wesley Sneijder has been linked to big clubs after his impeccable performance during the 2009/2010 UEFA champions league, the most recent being Manchester United. Sneijder, who was voted UEFA midfielder of the season as well as one of the three best midfielders in the world for 2010 by FIFA, claims Zenit St Petersburg, a club based in Russia approached him in January and offered him a very good amount of money. “They [Zenit] were prepared to go really far in order to sign me,” Sneijder told Voetbal International. “There was absolutely nothing wrong with their offer. “However, I don’t think this is the right moment for me to leave Inter.” Sneijder’s claim confirms earlier reports of Zenit coach Luciano Spalletti’s interest in the Nerazzurri and Holland midfielder.
