LATEST STORIES FROM AIR ALAMO
Bi-polar or Bi-Winning?
Due to various familial obligations, I joined both Friday and Sunday’s games while already in progress. Upon learning the scores as I did so, the sensation I felt on each occasion was exactly opposite of its counterpart: joy & excitement versus disappointment & unrealistic hopes for a comeback.
Did we learn anything from these two games? Yes and No. On the one hand, we...

I Respect Hill Even More
The kid had an awful game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night, he knew it and felt it. He took to twitter and apologized for his play.
I respect you George Hill even more than I already do.
RESPECT!

Corey Brewer To Mavericks
Brewer
I must say that I was hoping to land Corey Brewer and seeing him in Silver and Black but as we knew the Spurs would not have the money and when the Mavericks were said to be in play, they truly were going to be the heavy favorites in landing the athletic swingman.
Brewer whom was bought out by the New York Knicks had numerous teams interested in him. According to Dallas Coach...

My guess: February 18th
As we all know, a case of the DOOMZ struck on Sunday with Tony Parker going down with an injured calf muscle. The official release says that we should expect him to be out two to four weeks, but there are some promising whispers that it might be sooner than that.
I’ve taken a look at the upcoming schedule and it seems that with the gap in games between the Heat on the 14th and...

Wow, I guess I know more than I think I do…
Hey remember this:
(oh, and I wouldn’t be too shocked if Mighty Mouse gets bought-out by the Wiz, his deal ain’t that crazy with only about $8-9mil left on it)
Well check this out:
Mike Bibby and the Washington Wizards have agreed to terms on a buyout, according to league sources.
In a stunning move, Bibby, whom the Wizards acquired from Atlanta last week in a trade for...

Sterling Clips Ties with Davis
Baron Davis and the Clips 2011 1st round pick are on their way to Cleaveland (I’m an originalist, so sue me) for Mo Willams and Jamario Moon.
When all the dust settles from this week, I’m going to need awhile to sort out all these teams’ depth charts.

Eastern Conference Arms Race in Full Swing
The Hawks picked up Kirk Hinrich from the Wiz for a boat load of assets.
So for those scoring at home, the Wiz turned an unknown Euro player into: Kevin Seraphin, Mike Bibby, Jordan Crawford, Maurice Evans, and a first round pick this summer.
If that front office up there in DC keeps this up, great things could be coming their way.

And it continues….
Bulls have sent James Johnson to the Raps for a 2011 1st round pick. That pick will likely become a part of a deal to acquire a shooting guard to pair with Derrick Rose in the backcourt.

Deadline Week’s Audacious Start
Of course, we all know about what happened yesterday with Carmelo. That deal was so long in the making that it wasn’t much of a surprise when it finally went down. The particulars of it might have been a minor shock, but I think we all knew that the New York “Brain Trust” would do pretty much whatever it took to add ‘Melo to their team.
Just to recap, here’s who and what...

Hello Again: NBA Bullets
Honestly, I just finished my exams, and was too busy watching the Super Bowl over the weekend, to catch the Spurs play. With that in mind however, here are some of my quick thoughts for the Spurs and the NBA in general.
- While I didn’t catch the game with the Kings on Friday night, I did manage to catch up on a couple of things from the game. First; Welcome to...

The one where I’m p*ssed off
Yeah, so this happened:
Joe (NY): If that was the two best teams in the west playing each other last night then the West isn’t very strong. I’m still not sold on the Spurs. If they are playing a motivated Lakers team how can they hold up inside the paint against them??
Ric Bucher (1:05 PM): To answer the first question about the Spurs: yes, the Lakers’ length still...

An Unusual Accomplishment
About 35 miles outside of Miami near the town of Homestead sits an “unusual accomplishment” that is part mystery and part engineering marvel known as the Coral Castle. This collection of carved stone was built by one many over 28 years using simple tools as well as methods unknown. Somehow, a slight man that stood just over 5 feet tall was able to quarry, carve, move, and...

On Getting Locked Out…
If you’ve ever been locked out before, you know just how much it sucks. All you want is to be inside somewhere, but because of some mistake or oversight you are stuck sitting on the stoop. Now imagine a world where both NFL and NBA players have been locked out by their Owners. Won’t that suck far more than the few minutes you spent waiting for the locksmith to arrive?
Now...

How does one play “fast defense”?
Recently a blogger over at SBnation wrote an article on a new stat he had developed called “speed index;” his idea being that the Pace stat wasn’t necessarily a true indicator of a team’s speed-of-play since turnovers, offensive rebounds, and fouls can affect the number of possessions per game. So he did a little data mining and determined how much shot clock a team used...
