Who had UCONN cutting down the nets before the season?
The answer to that question would be nobody, except for maybe their fans and family members. Connecticut had a good season last year, but it went unnoticed since they were banned from postseason play. The Huskies finished (20-10) overall last year and (10-8) within conference play.
Heading into this season, second year head coach...
It was very smooth and done with expert precision.
In the midst of UCONN’s celebrating their fourth National Title, the Huskies mascot took some time out to hang with the cheerleaders.
When this happened.

Right now, UCONN is feeling pretty good about themselves. The pulled of a classic troll by tweeting this to Drake:
Imma just hand @Drake a business card and say… We Made It pic.twitter.com/YMYalWClmx
— UConn Men's Hoops (@UConnMBB) April 8, 2014
The only thing that could have made this better is if they dropped a “just hold on we’re going home.”
Nice job UCONN Twitter...
Congrats to the UCONN Huskies on winning the National Championship. I know somewhere Derek The RA is upset but hopefully he can take joy in this ‘One Shining Moment’ video.
Drake took this pic before the game. Always good to play both sides just in case. That sneaky Drake. I kid, I kid, I like Drake the way he causes people to get in their feelings is funny to me.
There are a million words to describe what’s going on in this photo.
So many dynamics, so much money, so many tears and so many jokes sitting in that one suite.

The Lakers via GM Mitch Kupchak have denied a report from Rex Chapman that has John Calipari to L.A. being a “done deal.”
Lakers spokesman John Black on Rex Chapman's Calipari report: "I spoke to (GM) mitch (Kupchak) and he said there is no truth to it…"

Calipari has been at Kentucky since 2009 and many in the NBA and...
LeBron James is becoming a huge fan of Connecticut point guard Shabazz Napier.
James, who’s watching the National Championship closely, tweeted out that no point guard should be drafted before Napier.
No way u take another PG in the lottery before Napier.
— LeBron James (@KingJames) April 8, 2014
Shabazz won’t be starving for much longer.
Willie Cauley-Stein can’t play in the National Championship game, but he’s definitely making his presence felt with his Big Blue flowery under-the-jersey shirt look.
Cauley-Stein just ensured a week filled with relaxing memes.
Earlier today, Derek the RA sent a salty email out to the residents on his floor at UCONN basically ruining their fun for the night if UCONN wins.
Now BSO has learned that Derek has deleted his Twitter account. Sometimes those are the unintended consquences of being a fun hater. I wonder if he will even enjoy it if UCONN wins later.
Poor Derek The RA.
Alex Poythress is making an impression during this Final Four run.
Poythress has been looking like the guy many figured would be a one and done. Poythress threw down another strong putback dunk like it was nothing against UConn.
Ryan Boatright is a beast and left the whole Kentucky team swiping at air on this fake and drive baseline for the layup. This game is living up to its billing.
DeAndre Daniels makes himself some money every time he gets a steal, makes a timely basket or throws down a ferocious dunk.
Daniels started the National Championship off the same way he’s played the entire tournament. Daniels went baseline and hammered down an emphatic dunk to get the Huskies off and running.
This is the rumor of all rumors right before the National Championship game tips offs.
Rex Chapman is a former NBA executive, NBA shooting guard and Kentucky Wildcats legend. So for Chapman to drop a report like this, he either is a massive troll, or really knows something.
According to Rex, Kentucky head coach John Calipari could be the next head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers...
Drake is on a nationwide tour to prove to the masses that his love for the Wildcats is real…at least that’s what his latest series of Instagram pictures leads you to believe.
The latest stunt in Drake’s ‘I‘ve always been a Kentucky fan‘ ploy is this picture of Drake rocking the Championship ring…how he obtained said ring is up for debate
Nothing shall ever be...
A lower league soccer match in Brazil between Potiguar and Baraunas this past Sunday evening turned into a huge leg-kicking frenzy, which resulted in eight red cards, sending four players from each side to the showers.
Check out the Liu Kang flying kick towards the end of the video. That’s something serious right there.
The Panthers have gone out and signed a WR for Cam Newton to throw too. The team has signed former Eagles WR Jason Avant:
The #Panthers announced they signed WR Jason Avant to a one-year contract
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) April 7, 2014
Avant had 38 rec for 447 yards and 2 TDs last season. I don’t think that will have Cam jumping for joy but you never know.
Toronto Raptors center Jonas Valanciunas has found himself in a bit of hot water after it was reported that he was charged with driving under the influence.

In a move that surprises no one, Oklahoma State sophomore guard Marcus Smart has officially declared for the 2014 NBA Draft. In an interview with the Oklahoman, Smart made official what most people saw coming the moment he announced he was returning for his sophomore season last year. “I’ve told my teammates and my coaching staff, this year was my last year here and I am declaring...
Aaron Harrison has been money for the Kentucky Wildcats in this year’s NCAA Tournament, nailing two of the most clutch shots college basketball has seen in a long time, including one late against Wisconsin to put the Cats into tonight’s championship game against UConn. Harrison’s two YOLO threes came from nearly identical spots, and thanks to Deadspin’s Tim Burke, we get...
I guess the heroes of NYC had some steam to blow off.
According to the New York Daily News, the NYPD and NYFD got into a bench-clearing brawl during their annual charity hockey game at the home of the New York Islanders, the Nassau Coliseum.
During the second period, with the score tied 3-3, players from both sides began pairing up to fight and that’s when the benches emptied...
Like the sun rising every morning and the terribleness of Adam Sandler movies, one of the sure things in life is that the Raiders will have a poor draft this year. While that’s not a big surprise in and of itself, it should make the Falcons, the team picking immediately after Oakland, supremely giddy, so long as history repeats itself.
The #Raiders history in the #NFLDraft is good...
Just a short time ago, Josh Freeman was in high demand. Now that Greg Schiano ran him out of Tampa and he disappointed with the Vikings, he hopes to land on a new team. Today he visited the Chicago Bears:

While he would certainly not be the starter in Chicago, it might not be a bad move...
The story of Derek The RA has gone viral on Twitter but if you haven’t heard the story, I’ll catch you up. There is an email floating around that was supposedly sent to UCONN students basically telling them not to get too wild in the dorm. Derek wasn’t going to have any of that on his watch.
Well after a bit of digging, Derek may have been found. He has now protected his tweets...
