By now you all know the heart touching story of Ron Springs, and the ultimate sacrifice of his friend and former teammate, Everson Walls. From Cowboy fans everywhere, we offer our condolences to the Springs family.

I joined up, and subscribed to Witten’s channel. The app itself is easy to use, and there, are other NFL players on there as well. At the moment, Witten is the only Cowboy on there; however, Im sure more will join.

Should Ratliff Stay at Nose Tackle?
In 2005, Jay Ratliff was drafted in seventh round as a defensive end prospect. An injury to then-starter Jason Ferguson in 2007 forced Ratliff to play as an undersized nose tackle, but the result was something no one saw coming. Three Pro Bowls and a First Team All-Pro selection later, Ratliff goes into 2011 as one of the staples of our defense and a veteran leader.
That said...

Presumptuous Parting Shots
Before the NFL Draft and especially now in its aftermath, Cowboys fans have been speculating what 2010 players will not be with the team next season. My CowboysBlog colleague gave his thoughts on Roy Williams’ future in a post yesterday (link). I actually disagree with Joe and think Roy will still be with us next season, but we’ll get to him later. For now, here are the...

Roy Williams Among Jerry’s List of Players Not Returning
Jerry Jones has said that four or five players are in danger of not coming back this upcoming season. So, who’s on that list? Marion Barber and Marc Colombo are the two given, especially after drafting Tyron Smith and DeMarco Murray. Common sense and speculation point to, Terence Newman and Roy Williams being the other two players. Newman’s status will be effected with...

The UFC tried to Help DeMarco Murray with EA Sports Cover Contest
May be a little late with this news; but like myself, I don’t think many fans were aware that the UFC actually tried to help out DeMarco Murray win the NCAA Football 12 Cover for EA Sports. Ultimately Mark Ingram snagged the coveted cover for the game. The UFC even had an ad at UFC.com endorsing DeMarco Murray; the ad has GSP, Arianny, Lorenzo Fertitta, and Dana White asking fans...

3 Seasons Later, 2008 Draft Class Has Peaked
Its always been said that you’ll know what you have in a player by their third year of play, and if we look at the 2008 class it looks like that draft class has peaked. After the 2010 season we’re able to see where these guys may be heading going into year four in the 2011 season. Do we have any keepers?
In 2008 we drafted:
1a Felix Jones, RB
1b Mike Jenkins, CB
2 Martellus Bennett...

Free Agency Will Undoubtedly Address Cowboys Defense
Many critics of the Cowboys 2011 draft class are quick to point out that the Cowboys defensive needs were not addressed, in particular the defensive backfield, especially in the early rounds of the draft. To me, the Cowboys developed their board based on their assessments of the prospects this year, and the defensive back class were not that strong. So, the Cowboys went more the...

Romo’s Collarbone “Feels Great” During Organized Workouts
The Cowboys began some player organized workouts today, led by Tony Romo, Jason Witten, and DeMarcus Ware respectively.
Roughly 40 players showed up at an undisclosed location in the area on Tuesday, according to quarterback Tony Romo. Safety Barry Church also tweeted, “great team workout today.” (ESPNDallas)
Romo didn’t say exactly who or who was not present, but you can already...

Drafting DeMarco Murray Does Not Mean Choice is gone
Since we drafted DeMarco Murray, RB, Oklahoma the talk immediately shifted to the official end of the Barber era, which I absolutely believe to be true. However, there seems to be some thinking that Tashard Choice could also be a casualty from drafting Murray. I do not see this happening at all, especially considering the documented durability issues Murray has had, and even Felix...

Top Undrafted Free Agents Cowboys May Target
We found out Friday that the 8th Circuit of Appeals overturned Judge Nelson’s lifting of the lockout, so for now the lockout is back on which means everything is on hold, including the signing of undrafted free agents. The Cowboys have found some nice gems in recent years from the undrafted rookie classes. Depending on what happens on Monday in the courts, we can’t sign any players...

Grading the Cowboys 2011 Draft Class
We all know the draft grades will start to trickle in from the major pundits, and there’s usually not that much substance to them, and some have traces of bias in them obviously. So when you’re looking at some draft grades stick to the guys that blog the Cowboys, like our site here, and your other favorite Cowboys blogs, you get more realistic opinions and we tend to have a better...

Cowboys Select Bill Nagy, C, Wisconsin with the #252 Pick
The Cowboys select Bill Nagy, C, Wisconsin with the #252 Pick. I figured the Cowboys would draft a center late in this draft, seems to be something they do regularly. Last time we drafted a center it was Texas Tech EJ Whitley from the abysmal 2006 draft where Jason Hatcher is the only guy remaining. Lets see if Nagy can give us some center depth.

Cowboys Select Shaun Chapas, FB, Georgia with the #220 Pick
The Cowboys drafted a FB in the draft by selecting Shaun Chapas, FB, Georgia with the #220 Pick. Chapas has great size at FB, a true FB. 6’2” 245lbs, SR. Key word I keep seeing on his reports are “leadership” He was the overall team captain in 2010.

Cowboys Select David Arkin, OG, Missouri St. with #110 Pick
The Cowboys select David Arkin, OG, Missouri St. with #110 Pick. Ok, this pick addresses one of the two guards; Kyle Kosier or Leonard Davis. Supposedly the Cowboys want to re-sign Kosier, so this may ultimately be Davis’ replacement. Looks to have a durable background, no major medicals. Plays with a mean streak, plays angry. Good good. For the sake of instant commentary, I think...

What Will 4th-7th Rounds Bring to Dallas?
Well, day 2 brought Cowboys Nation more questions than answers. Carter and Murray? really? The draft philosophy is really coming into question, and to say anyone knows what the Cowboys will do is impossible. At this point, I wouldn’t doubt it if we draft another TE, and maybe a kicker, this would follow the path we’re on.
Today’s draft hints towards more free agent moves. The...

Carter and Murray Finish Disappointing 2nd Day of Draft
Ok, lets get straight to it. I see alot of people online trying to psyche themselves into thinking our picks in the 2nd and 3rd round were good picks. Let’s be real, this was a disappointing collection of bad picks. We know we needed more help in the secondary, offensive line, and defensive line, but nothing was addressed today. Why are we drafting injured, developmental players...
