Panthers RB Armond Smith ejected for kicking Ravens player in junk

Carolina Panthers running back Armond Smith certainly earned the ejection he received in Thursday nights game against the Baltimore Ravens.  In the 4th quarter of the game, Smith kicked Ravens backup linebacker Albert McClellan in the junk.  Not sure this is the way you help yourself make an NFL team. Vanderbilt head coach James Franklin does “The Carlton”

Vanderbilt Commodores head coach James Franklin was caught on the Vanderbilt dance cam doing “The Carlton” and I must say his impression is pretty spot on.  Now all that is missing is a little Tom Jones. You can see the rest of the players and coaches dancing in the full video below. [Lost Lettermen]

Spurs’ Matt Bonner stars in new rap video commercial for healthy snack

Not often are you going to see an NBA player in a commercial, eating baby carrots, while his name is rapped in a video promoting a new healthy snack.  Seems like the ShakeDowns marketing group does a great job thinking outside of the box to get you to remember their commercials.  Hopefully they didn’t pay the Spurs’ Matt Bonner too much for this since he didn’t do anything. Guy intentionally screws up Fantasy Football mock drafts to see reactions

This is the time of year where people start to get ready for Fantasy Football and some of the extreme ones buy guides and conduct mock drafts to get a feel for where certain players are going in certain rounds.  This random person decided to do the prudent thing and hilariously mess up each mock draft by taking random, horrible players.  The reactions to the fantasy football mock...

Czech Republic Pro League Hockey Player scores Lacrosse style goal

During the Czech Republic Elite League preseason game between Ceske Budejovice and HC Kladno, Miroslav Tretina scored this incredible lacrosse-style goal.  Sure he chipped it to himself so it wasn’t quite like Mike Legg’s or Billy Armstrong’s or the other lacrosse-style goals, but it was still insanely impressive. Cornhuskers head coach Bo Pelini pranks his team on Movie Night

The Nebraska Cornhuskers were expecting to have their second practice of the day, but head coach Bo Pelini decided to give them a surprise movie night.  The way he told them was pretty priceless.  Pranking the team like this is a good way to keep everybody loose, though I’m sure the players would have preferred that there wasn’t a prank since some of them looked legitimately...

Missed field goal turns into 125-yard kick return in CFL game

The B.C. Lions’ Tim Brown took advantage of a missed 45-yard field goal by Montreal Alouettes’ kicker Sean Whyte and returned it 125-yard for the score during the two team’s matchup on Thursday night. In the previous week Brown had returned a kickoff 97-yards for the TD. Although Brown’s return was pretty epic it wasn’t nearly at the level of Devin Hester in 2006 against...

Wilt Chamberlain’s 4th grade photo emerges

Any guesses which one is Wilt? The above picture depicts Wilt in 1945 as a nine-year-old standing six-foot tall while he was in Elementary School. Chamberlain would grow to six-foot-eleven before the end of High School, and eventually seven-feet for his NBA playing days. Massive man.

Marqise Lee, Lane Kiffin bring band ice cream

The ice cream during practice trend continues. We’ve seen it in the NFL with the Ravens and with a college team in Rutgers  but now we have USC’s All-American wide receiver Marqise Lee and head coach Lane Kiffin delivering ice cream to the Southern California marching band after their practice on Thursday afternoon. A post-practice surprise from @Lane_Kiffin & @TeamLee1...

Lions DE Willie Young taunts Tom Brady

Detroit Lions DE Willie Young decided to taunt New England Patriots QB Tom Brady after his pass went for an incompletion during Thursday’s preseason game.  I guess Young is unaware of the fact that this was a preseason game.  Young was also flagged on the play for taunting, negating the 3rd down incompletion and giving the Patriots a first down. Buffalo Sabres unveil awesome captain and assistant captain patches

The Buffalo Sabres unveiled their new awesome captaincy and assistant patches for the upcoming season.  They essentially took out the Sabres logo and inserted a “C” and an “A” into the logo and it works together very well. I think the patches will go very well with their jerseys and I really love when teams incorporate their logo into their captain and assistant captain...

Northwestern Wildcats release awesome new white helmet

The Northwestern Wildcats unveiled this awesome new white helmet that they will wear against the Cal Golden Bears on August 31st.  The white helmet looks absolutely fantastic with the all-white uniform, and I really love what Under Armour has done with Northwestern’s uniforms.  It’s too bad that Under Armour couldn’t do something like this for Maryland. Wisconsin unveils inverted red helmet for next season

This new helmet that the Wisconsin Badgers unveiled and will wear on September 7th against Tennessee Tech isn’t a bad concept, but I still think the original looks better.  Since the game against Tennessee Tech will be a home game, there will be an awful lot of red in Camp Randall Stadium.  It’s not great, but it certainly isn’t the worst helmet that has been unveiled this...

Tom Brady Visits Michigan Football Team, Gives Amazing Speech

The Michigan Football program has had some impressive visitors this year, but none of them gave a speech quite like Tom Brady gave them on Thursday morning.  Brady was in town to play the Detroit Lions in a preseason game and stopped by campus in Ann Arbor.  Something tells me that Brady has a future in coaching, perhaps when he retires he’ll come be the quarterbacks coach at...

Bubba Watson hits chip shot off ESPN Office keyboard

PGA Tour golfer Bubba Watson always keeps things entertaining.  Watson visited the ESPN Offices and decided to play a round of golf through their offices.  He took a wedge shot off this poor employees keyboard, which had at least two keys visibly break off, and then it seems he went on his way to play a bit more.  The best part of this?  It’s not a “This Is SportsCenter...

Ichiro Suzuki is in exclusive company after collecting his 4,000th hit Wednesday night against Toronto’s R.A. Dickey. Suzuku, who had 1,278 hits in Japan and 2,722 in the MLB, joins Ty Cobb, Hank Aaron, Stan Musial and Pete Rose in the only 4,000 hit club. The Yankees came out to Suzuki at first after his first inning single past Brett Lawrie.

Washington Redskins shirt makes logo half Indian, half RG3

This new shirt for sale on the boardwalk in Ocean City, Maryland features half of the Washington Redskins logo and half of Robert Griffin III’s face.  The Redskins have been facing a lot of backlash for their nickname and logo, so perhaps they should just be called the Washington RG3′s.  That seems to be what everyone thinks of them anyways. Apple iPhone’s assistant Siri has a favorite college football team, and that team is the Oregon State Beavers because they are apparently underdogs.  Looks like the big schools in Oregon have control of some major companies.  The Oregon Ducks have Nike backing them up and the Beavers have Apple.  This isn’t the first time that Apple has done something special like this with...
