Brewer Leaving His Mark In Dallas
With newly acquired Corey Brewer, Dallas head coach Rick Carlisle told the media he fits the continuity of the team and likes what the guard can do offensively.
After the trade deadline late February, ESPN.com reported the New York Knicks would buy out Brewer to make him a free agent. San Antonio, Boston and Oklahoma City were others interested in the young forward. But the Mavericks...

Washington’s New Players Making An Impact
Since trading away Kirk Hinrich and Hilton Armstrong near the end of February, the Wizards have had an opportunity to see how Maurice Evans, Jordan Crawford and their newest signee, Mustafa Shakur, can work into the organization. Those players did not get in on DunkFest 2011 – there were 13 dunks in Saturday night’s contest – but they all got on the court and tried to make...

Role Players Step Up For Toronto
On a night where Andrea Bargnani and DeMar DeRozan had off-shooting nights, the Toronto Raptors were still able to steal a 108-98 win against the reeling Indiana Pacers.
At one point late in the fourth quarter Bargnani and DeRozan were shooting a combined 7-22 from the field and had only been able to muster up 22 points between the two of them.
Yuck.
Luckily for the Raptors a...

Davis Continues To Make Strides
When Ed Davis played his first game as a Toronto Raptor back on December 1, the rookie relied on adrenaline to score 11 points and snag six rebounds in 24 minutes of burn. Even though he shot an impressive 5-7 from the field in the game it was clear his offense was a work in progress as most of those field goals came off putbacks or easy looks in the paint.
Two and a half months...

Runnin’ Rebels Of UNLV Documentary
Perspective is a funny thing.
I remember growing up as a pre-teen in the early 1990′s when the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels were in their glory years and thinking they were the epitome of what was wrong about NCAA basketball. However, now that I’m in my early 30′s and looking back on that period of college basketball, I can openly root for the team and all they stood...

Lakers, Hawks On Different Paths
The stretch of basketball played after the All-Star break usually separates the championship caliber teams from those who will probably be bounced in the early rounds of the NBA Playoffs.
The Los Angeles Lakers seem to be firing on all cylinders while the Atlanta Hawks spiral in the opposite direction. After a string of three straight losses, All-Star weekend and a few Phil Jackson...

Injury Bug Hits Washington
More so than in any other sports, the loss of just one player can change the entire identity of a team in the game of basketball.
And when the injury bug bites in the NBA, it bites hard.
“It’s tough. I can tell you that,” said coach Flip Saunders.
Already missing two impact players heading into Tuesday night’s match-up with the Milwaukee Bucks (24-38), the Washington Wizards...

No Magic For Orlando Without Howard
All things considered, the one-game suspension handed down to Dwight Howard could not have come at a better time. If only something new was learned about this Orlando Magic team while playing without him.
Howard was forced to sit out of Monday’s 89-85 loss at home to the Portland Trail Blazers after being called for his 16th technical foul a few days earlier against the Chicago...

Thornton Starting To Flourish In Sacramento
To say the last 20 days for the Sacramento Kings have been horrible would not do it any justice.
To review, on February 14th, DeMarcus Cousins is fined one game’s pay for a locker room altercation with teammate Donte Greene.
February 21st saw the team announce that reigning rookie of the year Tyreke Evans will miss at least three weeks with plantar fasciitis.
Then, on March...

Rivers Leads Team To State Championship

In a rematch of last year’s finale, the Wildcats won 52-44 over Dr. Phillips behind a game-high 25 points from Rivers. The Duke signee shot just 8-of-25 from the field but pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.

Billups No Longer An Afterthought
As part of the historic and monumental three-team trade that brought the star power of Carmelo Anthony to the New York Knicks roster, other players, draft picks, and a good deal of money changed hands as well. Part of that trade was veteran player, and former Nugget point guard, Chauncey Billups.
Though Anthony is certainly starting to settle into being a Knick quite well, and Stoudemire...

* 48 Minutes of Hell reports: ”Good times in the Spurs locker room after their defeat of the Cavaliers tonight. There was a lively inter-team debate—all in good, self-deprecating fun—about who was the better open three point shooter, Matt Bonner or Gary Neal. Landry Could Energize Hornets
It isn’t hard to notice when Carl Landry in on the floor.
No. 24 will be the guy hustling to set picks, lunging for every loose ball, anxiously vying for every 50-50 possession opportunity (that is, balls being fought over by opposing players) and jostling for position in order to contest each rebound.
For fans, it’s a refreshing and entertaining show of a player clearly doing...
