Game Notes | Indiana is in its 112th season of college basketball and will host Northwestern on Wednesday night. The Hoosiers are coming off an 84-71 win at home over Illinois on Thursday, Feb. 9, while the Wildcats fell at Purdue, 87-77, this past Sunday.

Indiana Volleyball is giving back this spring by volunteering throughout the community. IUHoosiers.com recently followed IU Volleyball player Jordan Haverly on her weekly trip to People and Animal Learning Services (P.A.L.S). IU Volleyball spends each spring volunteering at four different non-profit organizations in Monroe County.

The Indiana University wrestling team improved to 11-7 on the season with three straight wins on Sunday. Indiana headed south to defeat North Carolina State, VMI and Gardner-Webb by a combined score of 106-31.

A five-goal fourth quarter propelled the No. 9 Indiana Hoosiers women's water polo team (8-3) past No. 17 Maryland, 11-10, in the fifth place game at the Triton Invitational on Sunday. The Hoosiers trailed by two heading into the final stanza and rallied for their second straight win over a ranked team.

Indiana fell in a tough one at home on Sunday afternoon as Illinois hit a field goal with under a second remaining to take the 61-60 win. The Hoosiers trailed by as many as eight points in the second half before the Illini scored the final five points of the game to top IU. Aulani Sinclair led the way for Indiana with 17 points as Sasha Chaplin scored 14 points and Jasmine McGhee added 11.

Indiana men's tennis (6-3) fell on Sunday to the 19th-ranked Oklahoma Sooners by a 6-1 score. Josh MacTaggart scored a win over No. 53 Guillermo Alcorta in the match. All three of the 25th-ranked Hoosiers' losses this season have come to top-20 teams.

The No. 9 Indiana Hoosiers women's water polo team (7-3) defeated No. 16 UC Santa Barbara for the second time in two weeks at the Triton Invitational to advance to the fifth place game against No. 17 Maryland at 3:10 p.m. PT.

The No. 9 Indiana Hoosiers women's water polo team (6-3) was defeated in a highly contested battle with No. 12 Loyola Marymount, 7-5, on Saturday in the second game of Bracket D at the Triton Invitational.

Senior catcher had four RBI and Amanda Wagner collected three hits to lead Indiana (2-2) to the 9-1 victory against Santa Clara (1-3) in five innings on Saturday at the Hotel Encanto Invitational on the campus of New Mexico State University.

It was the first inning that proved to be the undoing for Indiana (1-2) as they allowed the Saint Mary's College Gaels to score seven times en route to a 8-3 loss for the Hoosiers. The game was played on the campus of New Mexico State University as part of the Hotel Encanto Invitational.

The No. 3 seed Indiana Hoosiers men's golf team was defeated by No. 2 seed Iowa by result of a combined margin of victory tiebreaker after the two teams were knotted at 3-3 in consolation play to round out the Big Ten Match Play Championship at The Concession GC.

Indiana women's tennis made it seven wins in a row with two more victories on Saturday afternoon at the IU Tennis Center. The Hoosiers topped Miami (OH), 5-2, in the day's opening match. IU then topped Ball State, 7-0, to end the afternoon.

Kind Butler moved to the Big Ten lead in the 60 meters and 200 meters, winning both events at the SPIRE NCAA DI Invitational. Butler bettered some of the nation's best sprinters in the meet. Indiana also got big performances from Darius King and Ryan Hindes at the meet.

Sunday will be anything but a day of rest for Hoosier Wrestling this week, traveling down to North Carolina for three duals in one day. Indiana is set to face North Carolina State (4-7), VMI (5-7) and Gardner-Webb (5-10).

Ben Hubers locked in his spot at NCAAs with an NCAA Automatic time in the 3,000 meters on day two at the Hoosier Hills. Indiana won four events on the day.

Indiana (1-1) trailed just 3-0 entering the fifth inning against New Mexico State thanks to good team defense and a solid pitching effort by sophomore Meaghan Murphy. But the Aggies (1-0) broke things open with a pair of runs in the fifth inning and then five more in the sixth to invoke the eight-run rule, 10-2.

Competition also began at the SPIRE NCAA DI Invitational in Ohio on Friday.

The No. 3 seed Indiana Hoosiers men's golf team fell to No. 6 seed Ohio State, 3-2-1, in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Match Play Championship on Friday at The Concession GC on a day that saw the top-three seeds fall. The Hoosiers will take on No. 12 seed Nebraska in the consolation bracket on Saturday morning.
