Dodgers Break Out -- For One Night
When reliever Matt Guerrier draws a bases-loaded walk, in his first at-bat in six years, you know it's a good night for the Dodgers. It was a welcome reprieve for an offense that hasn't enjoyed many of these games this year. They had 15 hits and four walks en route to a 10-3 win over the Pirates.

Outfielder Andre Ethier went 0-for-4 with a walk last night, snapping his hitting streak at 30 games, which ranks as the second-longest hitting streak in franchise history behind only Willie Davis’ 31-game hitting streak from Aug. 1-Sept. 3, 1969.

The Dodgers today announced the April winners of the Dodger Pride Awards. The Dodger Pride Awards were created in 2008 by General Manager Ned Colletti, and are given on a monthly basis to the players at each level of the club’s minor league system who play the game with a hustling, smart, aggressive style. The players and staff on each respective club vote for the awards.

Get Ready Willie; Here Comes Andre
Andre Ethier flared a single to right field in the fourth inning last night to extend his hitting streak to 29 games and tie Zack Wheat (1916) for the second-longest hitting streak in franchise history. Ethier is batting .387 during the run and is now just two games shy of Willie Davis’ Dodger-record 31-game hitting streak.

Ethier's Streak Hits 27 Games
It takes luck to keep a hitting streak alive. Andre Ethier has enjoyed some luck, along with the benefits of hard work, as his hitting streak reached 27 games on Sunday afternoon. Ethier singled off the glove of a diving first baseman Brad Hawpe in the seventh inning, likely his penultimate at-bat in the game. Official scorer Don Hartack looked at a replay, before quickly ruling it a hit.

Dodgers Minor League Teams Run the Board
All four Dodgers minor league clubs won on Wednesday, Albuquerque dumped New Orleans 13-8, Chattanooga topped Carolina 5-1, Rancho Cucamonga moved back into first place by beating Lancaster 11-6 and Great Lakes rallied late to top Lansing and Scott Van Slyke was selected the Southern League 'Player of the Week.'

LHP Hong-Chih Kuo's anticipated Friday return from the disabled list is in doubt after he retired only one of five batters in a Class A rehab assignment Tuesday night. He was charged with two runs on four hits with one strikeout.

Ethier Hits in 20th Game; Dodgers lose
After a two-run double in the sixth inning against the Cubs, Andre Ethier's hitting streak is now at 20 games, which means it's no longer just a note. It ties him for the longest active streak in the majors, the longest of his career and puts him in a tie for the longest April streak in team history, along with Steve Garvey's 20 from April 7-20, 1978.

Furcal's Bad Break Creates Opportunities

Broken Thumb Knocks Furcal Out For Six Weeks
Shortstop Rafael Furcal broke his left thumb sliding into third base in the fifth inning Monday night, and he may be out for six weeks. He had missed the previous two games because of a wrist injury, and he said "I'm thinking about retiring if I can't get back to being healthy," he said. Furcal, 33, has averaged just 94 games the past three seasons due to various injuries.
