2014 Free Agent Squad

Every year when the calendar flips to February, More Hardball scours the free agent bin to create a 25-man roster. 2014's edition has a strong pitching staff, but little on offense. Still think they wouldn't be the worst team in baseball though...Catcher:Kelly Shoppach 36 G, .193/.627, 0.0 WARFirst Base:Kendrys Morales 156 G,.277/.785, 64 R, 34 DBL, 23 HR, 80 RBI, 2.7 WAR...

Eff Alex Rodriguez

Alex Rodriguez has been suspended for the entire 2014 season. I wish the asshole was never allowed to be involved in the game again, but hey, I guess he's not as "evil" as Pete Rose.

How to Find the Best Bowling Ball for You

For you to become successful bowler, you need to have a bowling ball which you feel comfortable with. Most pro players are very particular about the balls they use to try out and they frequently have their own. If you want to improve your game, there is no doubt that you need to get your own ball. You risk getting a ball which is not suited for you if you are...

Bad Contracts are the En Vogue Thing to Do

It's an Epidemic!Seems like even the bad players are making big money nowadays. GMs around baseball are doling out millions to over-the-hill has-beens or never-weres.  Fausto Carmona Roberto Hernandez , he of only 2 good seasons out of his 8 year career, got 1 YR/$4.5M from the Phillies. Clint Barmes, who's OPS hasn't cracked .600 the past 2 seasons, just re-upped with...

Top AL and NL Fantasy Players For 2013 Season

We are still months from the 2014 fantasy baseball season, but there are a lot of people already doing a little bit of research for their drafts. For the second year in a row, the debate seems to be centered around Mike Trout and Miguel Cabrera. Who should be taken #1 overall? Can another player emerge as a legitimate threat? Here’s a look at the top four players heading into next...

Minor League Free Agent All-Star Team

Every winter general managers around baseball scour the free agent pool for what they believe might be a diamond in the rough or just cheap organizational depth. I used Cot's Baseball Contracts to handpick a 25-man roster of players that were signed to minor league contracts for the 2013 season. I think they would have outscored the Marlins and outpitched the Astros. Check...

Last Place Teams Collective Super Squad

It was a long season for some teams, especially the ones that finished in last place in their divisions.  The Toronto Blue Jays, Chicago White Sox, Houston Astros, Miami Marlins, Chicago Cubs, and Colorado Rockies all found themselves dwelling in the basement.  However, take bits and pieces from each and a super squad 25-man roster could be built that would likely be World Series...

John McDonald's Strange Season

Veteran journeyman and utility infielder, John McDonald, had a fascinating season.  The 38 year old found himself on 4 different teams this year.  He started off with the Pirates, then onto the Indians, then to the Phillies, and finally ended up with the Red Sox.  Playing on four MLB squads in one season is a rare feat, and to think 3 of them have made the playoffs. Too bad some...

Josmil Pinto is "Catching" MLB by Storm

Do you know the name Josmil Pinto?  No...well, neither did I until about two weeks ago.  Since joining the Twins the 24 year old catcher has done nothing but hit.  In 7 games he's batting .565/1.513, with 6 R, 5 DBL, 1 HR, and 4 RBI.  That equates to a 0.6 WAR, which is amazing for such a short period of time.  Aside from a poor showing in 2010 and 2011, Pinto has hit well...
