Lightning: Battle for the Franchise
The fight for control of the Tampa Bay Lightning may be reaching its tipping point. According to the St. Petersburg Times, as part of the agreement put in place on June 23rd, both Len Barrie and Oren Koules, dysfunctional owners of the franchise will have a window to buy the other out.

Lightning Address Several Positions in Draft's 2nd Day
After drafting defenseman Viktor Hedman and Forward Carter Ashton on day one of the draft, the Lightning went back to work trying to replenish a minor league system that was short on talented forwards and goaltenders.

Lightning Select Hedman with 1st Round Pick
