This has nothing to do with baseball, but I love this guy: http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/02/jillette.presidency/index.html

Pinstripes in the Park
I missed Pinstripes in the Park this year, but it's still worth mentioning. For a few years now, they've held this event, and it's a lot of fun. It's sort of a cross between watching the game at the ballpark and on TV.

What to do, what to do...
My sister was "complaining" about New York during a recent visit. Her complaint? There's too much to do!Should she go to the Guggenheim or MOMA? Should she get Yankees tickets or broadway theater tickets? A taping of SNL or Letterman? Yadda yadda. (How could she have left out the museum of sex?)If only we could all be lucky and live in a place like Iowa. Then we wouldn't have...

'Stache Superstitions
Giambi's growing and keeping his facial hair because he's sure it helps his luck. Can you imagine if people in most professions were as superstitious as baseball players? Like, your boss would insist you wear purple underwear for board meetings? It's silly, but whatever works!

Yankees get into the swing of things.
The New York Yankees are in the midst of training camp. We have won some games and we have lost almost as many. We started off the month with three losses and quickly switched gears to win five in a row. I like what I've seen from this Yankees team. Who has caught your eye this spring?

October Plus Baseball Equals Yankees
Well the Yankees are poised to make it to the playoffs for the 11th straight season. However it will be with a wildcard and not by winning their division which they have become accustomed to doing. The Yankees are 3 games back from the Red Sox, but 1.5 games ahead in the wildcard race, so the Yanke...

Legends to become Steinbrenner
So Legends Field is being renamed... I can't imagine a better way to be remembered than to have a field named after you - especially while you're still alive to enjoy it. Think of the extent to which we've become so familiar with the major field names? Shea Stadium, Fenway Park, Minute Maid Park... o...

Three Young Tigers for Sheffield
Gary Sheffield was not happy about being replaced in the lineup by Bobby Abreu, so maybe he'll be happier in Detroit. Currently sixth in RBIs and seventh in home runs among active major leaguers, Sheffield has probably earned the right to claim superiority. One the other hand, it took a few years (...

Johnson is back
I'm really looking forward to the game today, especially after the rainout yesterday. The Big Unit looks to be back in the game on Friday and with that hopefully the Yankees will be going back to the Series. I mean who could ask for more? They're the best team money can buy and I love em. Go Yank...

Yankees Taking It Back
The Big Unit has struck again. Wednesday night, Randy Johnson allowed only 3 hits in over eight innings of work to help the Yankees beat the Baltimore Orioles, 2-1. But more importantly this win puts the Yankees a ½ game up in the American League East. The Yankees may after all be able to clinch ...

Go Yankees! Beat Bo Sox!
The New York Yankees will pit Randy Johnson against Josh Beckett on Tuesday as they attempt to dominate the Boston Red Sox. It is our biggest rivalry and I am going to get tickets to the game. I can't miss watching this season's first match up between the two giants. The Yankees have a decided advan...

Who You Gonna Call? The Big Unit!
When the Yankees needed someone to come through to give them a win on Sunday against the American League East leading Boston Red Sox, they went to Randy "Big Unit" Johnson. With the win on Sunday the Yankees took the series from the Red Sox and stayed in contention for the division title. Johnson g...

Pitching and Hitting are Right On for Yankees
The New York Yankees are really hot right now and our power hitters, Bernie Williams and Alex Rodriguez, took out the Oakland A's with some dominating home runs. These two hitters are doing awesome this season and giving much needed support for our pitching staff. Pitcher Chien-Ming Wand is having a ...

Yankees Going for 27th Championship
The New York Yankees have made it back to the playoffs for the 12th straight season. Their run to the World Series starts against the Detroit Tigers tomorrow, October 3. The chips seem to be on the Yankees side at the start of the American League Divisional Series with home field advantage and the ...

A-Rod is Back in Action
Alex Rodriguez is starting to shine again for the New York Yankees this season after solid wins against the Boston Red Sox and Kansas City Royals. On Saturday he hit two home runs, his first double homer game this season, and seemed to be back in the swing of things. If Rodriguez keeps getting those ...

Leader of the Pack
The New York Yankees may have given up two to the Minnesota Twins but they came out fighting Sunday and stole the Twins fire and Jason Giambi got off two homers leading his team to the win. The Twins were looking to sweep us for the first time since 1991 but Giambi was determined not to let it happen...

Johnson Shelled, Yankees at the Edge
The Yankees are in an unfamiliar position so early in the playoffs; their backs are firmly against the wall. They have now lost 2 straight and stand to be eliminated Saturday night. Blizzard Hits New York City
Just as spring started in many parts of the country, winter reared its ugly head and dumped a whole lot of snow on New York City. The whole city is blanketed in white. It is beautiful and inconvenient at the same time. Hopefully the weather will warm up in time for the New York Yankees to start sprin...

Looking For Answers
Well the end of another disappointing season in New York usually means that several players' heads are on the chopping block. Yankees owner George Steinbrenner is not the type of guy to take his knocks with a team to hopefully win a championship in a few years, he wants to win now. And he pays fo...
