W. Golf. Two Wildcats in Top 20 at Lady Puerto Rico Classic
Northwestern improved 10 strokes Monday during the second round of the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Mar, P.R. The 'Cats moved up to eighth place in the 15-team race, shooting an 8-over 296 for a combined score of 602 (26-over). NU is four strokes behind seventh place North Carolina State (598) and has a commanding nine-stroke lead on ninth place SMU (611).

W. Lacrosse. 'Big Ten Icons' Spotlight Shines on Amonte Hiller Saturday
In a year-long series that debuted last fall, the Big Ten Network is profiling one coach from each of the 12 conference institutions whom it considers to be a Big Ten Icon. Kelly Amonte Hiller is Northwestern's representative on the list and is the subject of a 30-minute feature that debuts this Saturday (Feb. 18) at 8:30 p.m. CT on BTN.

No. 12 Northwestern dropped a second straight match for the first time this season as it fell to No. 17 Tennessee, 4-3, in a consolation match at the ITA National Team Indoor Championship at the Boar's Head Athletic Club in Charlottesville, Va.

M. Basketball. Northwestern's Winning Streak Snapped at Purdue, 87-77
John Shurna scored 23 of his game-high 30 points in the second half, but Purdue was able to out-score Northwestern in a shootout after the break as the Boilermakers snapped the Wildcats' three-game winning streak 87-77 at Mackey Arena Sunday evening.

M. Tennis. Northwestern Narrowly Edged By Vanderbilt, 4-3
In one of its closest matches of the season date, Northwestern went down to the wire with No. 43 Vanderbilt before falling 4-3 at the Currey Tennis Center in Nashville, Tenn. The Wildcats won the doubles point Sunday, but the Commodores claimed four of six singles matches to secure the victory.

W. Basketball. Strong Second Half Not Enough As 'Cats Fall To No. 18 PSU, 77-63
Northwestern outscored No. 18 Penn State in the second half, but could not trump the Lady Lions, falling 77-63 Sunday afternoon at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Morgan Jones and Kendall Hackney led the Wildcats (13-12, 3-9) with a game-high 20 points and 15 points, respectively.

Northwestern completed the first round of its spring schedule Sunday at the 10th Annual Lady Puerto Rico Classic at the River Course at Rio Mar Beach Resort. After 18 holes of competition, NU sits in 10th place with an 18-over 306.

Wrestling. 'Cats Finish Nonconference Schedule 7-0
Northwestern had a successful day in Buies Creek, N.C., defeating two teams from the state of North Carolina to finish the nonconference season a perfect 7-0. The 'Cats started the day with a 20-15 win over North Carolina and then dominated the host team, Campbell, 32-5 at the John W. Pope Convocation Center. Northwestern now has won four-straight duals and improved to 10-4 on the season.

For the second time in as many days -- and the fourth time this season -- Northwestern faced a top-10 opponent, but after upsetting the ninth-ranked team in the country Friday, the Wildcats fell to No. 4 UCLA, 4-0, on Saturday in the ITA National Team Indoor Championship.
