LATEST STORIES FROM PACKERAMA
Uh, scratch that.
On second thought, I'm not moving. But I won't be posting here, either. If there's something you want here, let me know; I'm moving out for good from packer blogging. There isn't a damn thing I have to say.

Brett isn't the only one that's moving
As of today, the Packerama blog you've known will be operating at a new site.Join us at the new Packerama: http://myteamrivals.typepad.com/packers/Why? Some added wrinkles, a few more advertisements, and a chance to be part of a larger network, My Team Rivals, which we hope will bring a bigger audience. There will also be more bells and whistles including, eventually, a history...

Channel WFaRVe
WFRV-TV said today that because of fan requests, it will show as many Jets games as it can for the Brett Favre-deprived in Green Bay.Just wait until the howling if some big AFC game is dropped to show Brett vs., say, Miami.

Rating the survivors
A good piece at ESPN about the post-Favre Packers that indicates they'll be OK, even without Favre. His view: the Green Bay Packers have been built to last.

A FavreTV update
Green Bay fans won't be able to see the two times the Jets and Brett Favre play on Fox, as those games are on at the same time as Packer games scheduled on Fox.But a friend of mine in the local TV biz is betting the CBS station in town has already fired off a memo asking for Jets coverage in Green Bay.

One last comment
I mostly agree with John Clayton at ESPN.com: the Packers did what they have to do, it won't necessarily put the Jets in the playoffs, and Mike McCarthy came out looking much better after this weekend.

When you're a Brett, you're a Brett all the way
So it's the New York Jets, who undoubtedly will welcome Favre for more reasons than his passing ability and leadership. From the New York Times:He will be a huge draw for the Jets, who will move to their new training complex in New Jersey at the end of training camp, and he gives the Jets a face as they begin a campaign centered around the eventual opening of the stadium they...

Not as popular
You might have seen the fans with "Keep Favre" signs at practice. That isn't universal. From WBAY.com:The attitude of Packers fans is being reflected in a new poll out Wednesday on the support of Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers organization. The Wisconsin Policy Research Institute surveyed 600 Wisconsin residents by telephone between Sunday and Monday this week. One of the questions...

Ignoring Favre for a moment
Lopez Lomong will carry the U.S. flag in the Olympic opening ceremonies. He was born in Sudan, separated from his parents at the point of a gun at age 6, and with the help of friends, escaped confinement and made it to a refugee camp in Kenya, then was brought to America as part of a program to relocate lost children from war-torn Sudan. He became a naturalized American citizen. He...

4ward to Tampa?
As of last night, the hot rumor was Favre to Tampa Bay, and Jon Gruden, if compensation could be worked out.Goodness knows, with all the old cheeseheads living in that part of the country, he'll feel right at home. Back in the old Bucco Bruce days, the Packers were always the biggest draw as the Wisconsin retirees would fill the Big Sombrero.Well, for those of us who had hoped...

4 no more - maybe
Jay Glazer at Fox Sports believes the following:1. Favre won't play for the Packers, and the talks he's having right now are basically how to make sure that happens.2. Favre realizes his coming back could cause problems for the team and he doesn't want that.3. Favre still wants to play in the NFC North; the Packers don't want that, and the hangup is how to settle...

The view from Mississippi
A writer in the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American takes, not surprisingly, a pro-Brett Favre view. Why, he asks, are the Green Bay Packers determined not to let Favre play when he gives them the best chance to win? It's a question that has been asked a lot by Packer fans, and one I've answered before. Here's a summary:1. The Packers didn't give up on Favre. Favre retired...

The scrimmage has landed
It isn't a full house because of the rain, although it was a sellout. And it's being televised again. The really strange part was watching LIVE AERIAL COVERAGE of Brett Favre getting a police escort from the airport to his house (no, he didn't sell it yet. That, in retrospect, shoulda been a sign. Or maybe he was going to lease it to somebody.)Ah well...a Journal No Hyphen...

4 some more: He's back
OK, the Green Bay Packers dog has caught the car it was chasing. Now, what is it going to do with it?The Green Bay Packers gave up on trading Brett Favre, who, it turned out, was the better bluffer in this poker game. The Packers held the better cards - we can keep you from going just anywhere, but if you really want to play, we can trade you to a nice, warm place - say, Arizona...

Welcome, Ducks! Your unis are still godawful, tho
I've been getting a ton of traffic at this post after somebody used it for information on a University of Oregon fan message board. So welcome, duckies! Those uniforms are still unbelievably awful, tho. If they were designed by players ... you sure don't have art majors on your team.At least now that you're here, you can see how green and yellow can be used to make a good...

No news is...just no news
Looks like the commissioner isn't reinstating Brett Favre today, and we have to assume he won't on Sunday ... or until the Packers and Favre reach a deal.So if you're going to Green Bay Packers Family Night on Sunday, don't expect to win a Favre jersey.

Love of the game/? Bull
I used to believe Brett wanted to come back for love of the game. Now it seems he just wants to go to an NFC North team to stick it to the Packers.Shove off, No. 4. Stick to your guns, Ted.

About that money...
The $20 mill the Greem Bay Packers were supposedly giving Brett Favre is really money that has to do with marketing and licensing agreements, not a buyout to stay away, according to reports. The good news? Brett's considering doing just that. And he isn't in Green Bay yet.

The messiah returns...
Kudos to Greg Bedard of the No Hyphen, who posted this item today:Favre flight expected in Green BayGreen Bay - The NFL Network is reporting Brett Favre is scheduled to arrive in Green Bay at 9 p.m. via private jet. There is a chartered plane scheduled to depart Hattiesburg at 4:10 p.m. with a 6:45 p.m. arrival time at Austin Straubel. However, Favre is notoriously late boarding his...
