Welcome BachelorGirl.net! I just had to add her to my list of favorite non-hockey sites. BachelorGirl is from my hometown, and she's a hoot. And she's got her own theme song!I want my own theme song. Who wants to write one about a transplanted Southern media junkie who likes hockey?

I think it's time for me to go back to fangirl posts where I talk about how cute the players are. 'Cause there's nothing cute about the way the 'Canes are playing.6-1 loss to the Flyers. There aren't enough Goobers to help me today.

The Rangers, including one Marc Staal, did the Top Ten for David Letterman last night. I kinda wanted to punch Sean Avery when he did his bit. Henrik Lundqvist got the best line, "How can anyone concentrate on hockey when Jennifer Aniston still hasn't found love?"They...

The Acid Queen is shuttering her palace. I am marking the occasion because hers was the first 'Canes blog I'd ever read. She was also the first to welcome me onto the bandwagon. All hail!

Just in case you were living under a rock last night, the 'Canes lost their first game to the Preds 4-2. All reports seem to indicate that Eric Staal and Erik Cole were in fine form, and I heard quite a bit of action from Ray Whitney and Tuomo Ruutu as well. Let's hope this...

The Canes signed center Stephane Yelle for a one-year contract. Yay. Woo. We've got a lot of big guys on our team now. It only took years of fans screaming at JR to accomplish this.I hate summer.Wake me up when September ends.

With the Alberts signing, we'll actually have a 6'5" d-man that will HIT somebody once in a while. Although I will miss Babs' slapshot, he plays like a freaking china doll. He can take his fragile ego and his stupid salary demands and go elsewhere.

Somewhere I read that the Canes' affiliation with the Albany River Rats was up for renewal this year or otherwise unsettled. Was that ever resolved? Did I just imagine that?

Apologies for the lack of posts. Hope to be back on soon. I did follow the post-season and was thrilled to see the boys make it to the ECF. It was the highlight of what has been, so far, a difficult year.As you were!

Some initial thoughts:1. Don't know what's making the difference; all I know is this is the second game in a row WHERE WE SCORED THE FIRST GOAL! So, well done!2. Scotty, dude, you do NOT need to be fighting right now.3. Matt Cullen, you rule. You also remind me of an "...

I know it's unrealistic to expect any immediate results from the firing of Coach Laviolette, but last night's beatdown by the Penguins certainly added insult to injury. While the boys came out showing some signs of life in the form of 8 shots on goal in the first few minutes...

After a dismal first period, it was the Captain that gave the Canes the needed shot in the arse. My man scored a beautiful goal in the 2nd that helped to wipe away Tampa's 3-0 lead. Then Cully, who told Tripp he wanted to get "a real goal" in tonight's game, scored...
