Rice and Notre Dame to Meet in 2014
Rice and Notre Dame have agreed to meet in football during the 2014 season, Rice Director of Athletics Rick Greenspan announced on Monday. The exact date of the game, which will be played in South Bend, Indiana and telecast nationally on NBC, will be announced at a later date.

Callahan and Hull Earn Sporting News Freshman All America Honors
Rice cornerback Bryce Callahan and wide receiver Mario Hull are among 26 freshmen who have been named the 2011 Sporting News Freshman All America Team. Callahan picked up a second honor when he was also named to Scout.com's FoxSportsNext 2011 Freshman All America team.

Solomon and Nordstrom Named to C-USA Football All-Academic Team
Rice senior defensive end Scott Solomon, who tied the school career record for sacks, and senior linebacker Matt Nordstrom, who came to Rice as a walk-on but earned a scholarship with his play on the field, are among 12 student-athletes named to the 2011 C-USA Football All-Academic team, as selected in a vote of the league's Sports Information Directors.

Fanuzzi Earns C-USA and Manning Award Weekly Honors

Martens on Ray Guy Award Watch List
Rice University senior punter Kyle Martens was among the candidates named to the Watch List for the Ray Guy Award released Tuesday by the Greater Augusta Sports Council. Given to the nation's top punter, the Ray Guy Award is named in honor of the former Southern Miss punter who many consider the best of all-time.
