If the NHL wants to market guys like Alex Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby in the NHL playoffs, they might want to have a little sit down with the Montreal Canadiens.

Derek Roy – Season Stats 80 GP 26 G 43A 69PTS 48 PIM
Theres no time for but the future for Derek Roy and the Buffalo Sabres. He fits the model for the typical Sabres forward, smallish and skilled, but he doesn’t fit the system. You can probably count on your hand the number of times [...]

2009-2010 Season Comes to an end.
The goal of the Buffalo Sabres this year was to make the playoffs. They hadn’t been in three season, and the team was hungry for it. It fought off the Ottawa Senators late in the season for the division title, and earned a post season berth with the Boston Bruins.
On paper, it looked like the [...]

Sabres staying alive
The weekend is over, and despite being faced with a win or go home situation tonight, the weekend wasn’t as doom and gloom it could have been. A loss in game five really would have put the kabosh on any sort of weekend enjoyment.
Tonight the Sabres will once again play for their respective playoff lives. [...]

Vanek to decide for Game Six
Still gasping for air in the conference quarterfinals, Sabres coach Lindy Ruff has left Thomas Vanek’s status for Game six up to the player.
Ruff knows whats on the line, and probably feels that the team could win without Vanek in the lineup, given the teams success in Game five, but the players presence could also [...]

Sabres gasping for air
The Buffalo Sabres proved tonight why they were the division winners, and how Boston’s offensive woes should have looked all season.
It took a Lindy Ruff shakeup of the lineup (benching Torres and losing Hecht and Vanek to injury) – and the Bruins finally succumbed to the Sabres talent.
With the extra day off before game six, [...]

Game Three Conference Quarterfinals
Tonight the Sabres and Bruins face off in game three of the Conference Quarterfinals.

Sabres make deal
Its a scene that plays out in movies, books, and sometimes in real life all the time. Deathrow inmate slowly taking his last steps towards his impending fate, hoping for an eleventh hour call from the governor and getting a stay of execution.
It kind of seems like that in Buffalo every year around trade deadline. [...]
