NBC Sports today reported that the first ever live stream of a Super Bowl attracted 2.1 million users, making Super Bowl XLVI the most watched sporting event online ever. Overnight Super Bowl Rating 47.8 on NBC, Slightly Below 2011
Last night’s overnight rating for Super Bowl XLVI featuring the Giants and Patriots on NBC came in at 47.8, less than one percent off last year’s ratings record of 47.9 for Packers/Steelers on Fox. NFL Network to Televise 13 Games on Thursday Night Begining in 2012
During his “State of the League” address at Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis this morning, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced that the the number of Thursday Night NFL telecasts on the NFL Network will expand from eight to thirteen games beginning this fall.
