Andre Roy makes a throat cutting gesture to Riley Cote and the Flyers bench
After being knock out by Flyers Riley Cote, Andre Roy went on a seemingly uncontrolable temper tantrum screaming and calling out the Flyers bench, even going as far to make a throat cutting motion with his thumb to Riley Cote.
The league will probably look at the video and MAYBE JUST MAYBE give Roy 1 game. What do you guys think the league should do about this?

Today's trade deadline winners and losers
It was a big day in the NHL today as we all know. Big name players like Brad Richards and Hossa were both delt. Richards near the start of the day, where as the Hossa trade came down to the wire.
I have compiled a list of what I think are the winners and losers of the day.

NBA to play outdoor game to start the 2008-2009 season.
When the Suns and the Denver Nuggets announce their plans today to play an exhibition game at a tennis stadium in Indian Wells, Calif., next October, it will mark the first NBA outdoor game of the league's modern era.

Flyers trade for Modry
The Flyers, having failed in their attempts to get Tomas Kaberle who would not waive his no-trade clause with Toronto, struck a deal today for Kings defenseman Jaroslav Modry.
The Flyers gave up an undisclosed draft pick.

Hossa and Havlat both going to the Habs?
There is talk that if the Montreal Canadiens win the Marian Hossa sweepstakes, they might make a push for Chicago Blackhawks right winger Martin Havlat as well. The Blackhawks might be willing to move Havlat. The New Jersey Devils also are interested in Havlat, who was a teammate of Hossa in Ottawa.

Antropov suspended three games

Ex-NHLer Karalahti charged in drug case
Former NHL player Jere Karalahti has been charged with smuggling amphetamines into the country in a case involving 19 people, including a motorcycle gang.
The Espoo District Court opened the case against Karalahti and other suspects in a local prison for security reasons. If found guilty, Karalahti could face up to six years in prison.

The troubled goalie showed up late for practice yesterday after spending the all-star break in Las Vegas and may have played his final game in an Ottawa uniform.

NHL to open 2008-2009 season in Europe
The league is apparently ready to formally announce this weekend at the NHL All-Star Game in Atlanta that, as expected, the Ottawa Senators will play the Pittsburgh Penguins in Stockholm and the New York Rangers will play the Tampa Bay Lightning in Prague.
