The Lions tried a fake field goal, failed miserably

Up by four points in the fourth quarter, the Lions decided to attempt a fake field goal on fourth and goal against the Steelers. Detroit’s holder took off for the end zone and was stopped short before fumbling the ball away to Pittsburgh. Not sure why Detroit didn’t take the easy FG to put them up by a touchdown. That’s certainly a question Jim Schwartz will have to answer...

WATCH: Jason Babin rips out Andre Ellington's dreads

Rocking dreads as an NFL running back is a risky move – you have to realize that defenders, willing to bring you to the ground at any cost, will latch on to your locks if they have to. That’s exactly what happened to Cardinals running back Andre Ellington on Sunday when Jaguars linebacker Jason Babin came away with a chunk of Ellington’s dreads on a third quarter run. [TBL...

I think I fell in love with the USC water girl tonight

USC managed to upset No.4 ranked Stanford in Los Angeles tonight, and my Trojan MVP from the surprise performance didn’t suit up or even take one step off the sidelines…it was the USC water girl, who captured my heart from a distance. The gorgeous water girl – presumably a student at Southern Cal – was at Ed Orgeron’s side pretty much all night, meaning she got plenty of...

Michigan St. student section can play some killer defense

Let me set the stage for you: Columbia is on the road against the #2 team in the nation in Michigan St. By some miracle they are within two points of the Spartans with three minutes left and they have the ball. WATCH: Auburn beats Georgia on miraculous Hail Mary

The Auburn Tigers kept their visions and hopes of a BCS title game alive after it looked like they had given away a big lead to the Georgia Bulldogs. With the game in the balance on a fourth down late in the fourth quarter, Auburn QB Nick Marshall heaved a bomb down field that was tipped by a couple of Bulldogs defenders. The ball somehow managed to fall into the hands of the intended...

Carmelo Anthony falls victim to the new ‘Hack-a-Dwight’ rule

Dwight Howard is terrible at free throws. You know it, Dwight knows it, even the league knows it. That’s why the NBA decided to create a rule that would reduce how many times Howard, a career 57.6% shooter, would make it to the charity stripe. When put that way it seems ludicrous, but it’s actually rather brilliant. It’s filed under the NBA rule-book as an ‘away-from-the...
