I don't have time to do a full-out post for this series, and I'm leaving tonight to go to Kansas City to check out the Royals on Saturday, and then the Cardinals in St. Louis on Sunday. But I thought I'd keep this up if people wanted to discuss. I will be able to chime...

I was going to do a whole mid-season recap of the Phillies, but it seemed like I would just be repeating stuff that we all already know. Rollins needs to play better, Hamels needs to pitch like an Ace, Lidge and Madson need to stop blowing games and everyone else needs to play fairly...

According to the poll we ran, 45% of you would quite literally trade the farm system for Roy Halladay, while 55% would not. The airwaves and newspapers are abuzz with passionate arguments about how we have to try to win now, or how we can't mortgage the future for one player...
Catching Up on the Sixers Non-News

I have been back and forth about what to write about. There has been a complete lack of news surround the Sixers after they select Jrue Holiday in the draft. And what's been rumored or happening as of late has been quite boring and honestly not worth thought. Just to catch up though...

Jon Heyman is saying it is inevitable, Jayson Stark says he's flying to Philly as I type. The writing appears to be on the wall, and Pedro Martinez will likely be donning the red pinstripes in the next couple days. So the question is - is this a good thing? In order to answer...

After that 22 run laugher in the first game of the series, I expected the Phillies to, as they usually do after big run games, stop scoring runs all together for a week or so. They struggled with runners in scoring position the next two games, but broke out last night and finished...

Since we are talking a lot about Roy Halladay trade scenarios, I thought it would be interesting to see which prospects people most want to hold on to. Below (and on the side bar) is a poll with just that question. I think that most of us would trade pretty much anyone for Halladay...
Phils turning the corner? Or just not as bad as the Mets?

Sweeping the Mets is fantastic, there is never any doubt about that. But, it's hard to gauge what this weekend series really means for the Phillies, as the Mets were rolling out a line-up with only one legit offensive threat, David Wright. Have they put the rough patch behind them...

Well, since the Phillies suck right now (no dancing around that), it's a good time to forget about right now and talk about the future. I've put together this Phillies organizational depth chart that shows who we have under our control for the next 3 seasons (2010-2012).

Guys (and any ladies) free agency started at 12:01 and I think by the end of July we will get to see a few things:
What will happen with Andre Miller?
How the Sixers final roster (main rotational players at least) will shape up.
How the entire NBA will look and where the balance...

The Phillies are finally done their disastrous 4-11 interleague run and head to Atlanta. Last season, they had a disastrous 3-9 interleague run and then, headed to Atlanta, where they promptly swept the Braves (and then lost 4 straight right after). Hopefully we can repeat history...

Editor's Note: Bill Conlin wrote a piece on this subject a week or so ago. I don't read Conlin, so if I am repeating anything he said, I apologize.

Look I don't bull **** you - I was on the Ty Lawson train from day one and when Pete and I saw Holiday drop we were almost certain the Sixers would select him because he was projected as a lottery talent and if you subscribe to the draft tiers model you aren't suppose to...

Those games (particularly the Saturday night game) were so painful to watch that I'm not going to re-live the pain by writing about them. If you want a good recap of the series, Todd Zolecki has a good one here. I really wouldn't have much to add to what he said.

Well - the Phillies certainly do have a way of making you want to grind your temple with a screwdriver, don't they? Lazy defense, bad baserunning, poor ABs, horrendous starting pitching efforts, all amounting to a 1-5 stretch that very easily could have been an 0-9 stretch.
