The University of Iowa women's tennis team beat rival Iowa State, 4-3, in the Iowa Corn Growers Cy-Hawk Series on Sunday at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex. The Hawkeyes improved to 33-0 all-time against the Cyclones (0-5). Iowa is 3-0 this season, the best start for the Hawkeyes during head coach Katie Dougherty's three-year tenure. The No. 12 Hawkeyes tallied a 334.500 to place third. The Golden Gophers placed first with a 340 while Nebraska finished runner-up with a 336.500.

Track. Sowinski Runs to Eighth Place Finish in the 800 Meters

The University of Iowa Track and Field Team sent four athletes to the Husky Invitational this weekend. Senior Erik Sowinski and junior Jeff Thode represented the Hawkeyes in the invitational part of the meet.
