Cowboys/Vikings Game Thoughts

Offense: We got a good look at what the Vikings will look like on offense week 1 against the Chargers and I like what I seen. McNabb looked as sharp as the offense moved the ball down the field well and Adrian Peterson looked like, well, Adrian Peterson…The beast we all know he is. The Vikings had 4 drives of 50 yards or more and I like what I seen from Bill Musgrave as...

Dallas Beats Minnesota 23-17

The Cowboys defeated the Vikings tonight 23-17, making the Vikings fall to a 1-2 record this preseason. Normally I would be upset, but it is only the preseason. I still saw a lot of good things tonight, both from our offense and defense. Adrian Peterson ran wild in the first half, finishing the night with 14 carries for 81 yards. Donovan McNabb had a good game tonight as well, his...

A Few Preseason Busts

Although the Vikings have looked pretty good for the most part this preseason, there are a few guys who could use some improvement. A few days ago I shared with you five guys who I think are doing a really good job so far this preseason, but here are five guys who I feel need to step it up. 1. CB Asher Allen. I don’t really think Allen lacks speed or quickness, but his awareness...

Vikings Sign RB Caleb King

Vikings have signed ex-Georgia RB Caleb King per multiple sources. King went undrafted in today’s supplement draft. King will be in for a physical on Tuesday. King never lived up to his potential with Georgia and not sure he will make the roster here but will be interesting to see what he brings to the Vikings.

Vikings Place OT Scott Kooistra on IR

Leslie Frazier stated that the Vikings have placed OT Scott Kooistra on Injured Reserve. Kooistra injured his neck against Seattle on Saturday. Frazier states he’s not sure whether it’s a career ending injury or not. Kooistra started at RG in the game at Seattle and actually played decently well. This is the first significant injury of the season for the Vikings. Other...

Stylez White DE 6’3 270 LBS. Vikings have signed DE Stylez White a free agent from the Bucs. White tweeted the news of the signing today. A Few Preseason Standouts

Hey guys! With two weeks of the 2011 Preseason in the books, I wanted to go over a few guys for the Vikings who I think are really making a good impression in the preseason. 1. CB Marcus Sherels In my last post where I predicted who would make the final roster cut for the Vikes, I had Sherels making the practice squad. I hope I am wrong. Sherels has done an outstanding job this preseason...

Vikes Topple T-Jack’s Seahawks

Tarvaris Jackson played poorly as the Seahawks new starting quarterback on Saturday, as the Vikings defense was able to hold both him and Sidney Rice in check. Donovan McNabb led the starting offense on one efficient drive resulting in a field goal, while the starting defense came up big on a couple of occasions including a goalline stand that was reminiscent of the WilliamsWall...

LIVE CHAT: Preseason Week Two

The Vikings and Seahawks game should be getting under way at about 9:00 p.m. Minnesota time.  I’d like to make up for my lack of updates lately by hosting a live chat during the game.  We’ll get started right around kickoff time. Vikes vs. Seahawks

Rice: “I Just Didn’t Feel It”

Receiver Sidney Rice will face his former team on Saturday, as will quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, as the Vikings travel to Seattle for their second preseason game.  Seeing that combination face off against this Vikings defense, albeit for a short amount of time, should make the game slightly more interesting. Rice recently gave the media some quotes that suggest the Vikings didn’t...

Branden Lemke’s Bold Predictions: #2; My List Of Who Makes The 53 Man Roster

I just want to start off by saying I apologize for not writing on the site as frequently as I would have liked to over the past few weeks. I am working about 65 hours a week at my full time job, also had a personal issue that set me back for a while, so I apologize. My schedule should free up a lot more time for this site as time progresses, so this is only a temporary thing. Anyways...

Vikings/Titans Thoughts

With the Vikings losing their first pre-season game to the Titans 14-3, there were some good and bad things to take from it. The Good Starting Quarterback Donovan McNabb had a decent first outing for the Vikings going 6-11 for 40 yards. McNabb converted a few 3rd downs, was calm and smooth inside the pocket and also showed mobility when the pocket collapsed. Rookie quarterback...

Position Battles

Pre-season is a time for coaches to get a look at younger players but it will also give the Vikings staff a good look at some players battling for starting or back up spots. Adam wrote an article about 5 things to watch for and I’m going to expand off of that and give you guys some position battles to keep an eye on. Back Up QB Joe Webb, Christian Ponder McNabb has a history...

Five Things To Watch On Saturday

With a 90 man roster at this point of the preseason, there will be plenty of performances to note following Saturday’s preseason game in Tennessee.  Starting in the morning, I am going to be taking a few days off to attend the wedding of some close friends, so I didn’t want to miss the chance to give you all a heads up in regards to what I will specifically be looking for when...
