Michael Phelps and Megan Rossee have reportedly broken up, and if the report is true the split had to have happened at some point within the past several days. According to TMZ, Phelps has ended his relationship with the model/actress: According to our sources, Phelps felt the relationship wasn’t going anywhere, so he decided to end it so he could pursue other options. That certainly could be true, but it appears Rossee spent the holidays with Phelps and his family in Baltimore. The two were together having a grand ole time at the aquarium as recently as Thursday, as evidenced by this photo that she tweeted: Phelps and Rosse have reportedly been dating since last winter, but they made their first public appearance at the London Olympics back in August. Phelps is a very eligible bachelor who will likely have no problem on the open market, but it’s tough for normal people like us to understand breaking up with someone who looks like Rossee. To each his own. I’m sure the couple had its reasons. MEGAN ROSSEE PICTURES Photos via Megan Rossee on Twitter

Ohio State already reaches out to Wisconsin 4-star commit

College football recruiting is not a game for the sympathetic.  Wednesday evening, Wisconsin coach Gary Andersen announced he is leaving Madison, Wisc., as he has accepted an offer to become Oregon State’s new football coach. Within hours of that announcement, Ohio State and Urban Meyer had already reached out to one of Wisconsin’s committed recruits. Kyle Penniston, a four...

NFL’s Blandino: Browner’s hit could be reviewed in future

With one throw of the flag, a touchdown for the New England Patriots turned into a 15-yard penalty against them.   Brandon Browner’s hit on San Diego Chargers tight end Ladarius Green last Sunday has been the subject of a healthy debate. Many believe Browner didn’t lead with his head and shouldn’t have been flagged. Yet those defending the call claim it’s...

Twitter/@RonDC27 Did you think the Mike Riley to Nebraska news was crazy? Oregon State just one upped that story in terms of craziness with its new hire. Report: Dodgers acquire Jimmy Rollins from Phillies

The Los Angeles Dodgers didn’t waste much time replacing Hanley Ramirez at shortstop. According to multiple reports, the defending NL West champions have acquired veteran Jimmy Rollins from the Philadelphia Phillies (via CSN Philly). The interesting dynamic here is that Rollins waived his no-trade clause to go to the Dodgers. That has been a point of contention over the past couple...

NFL owners approve new personal conduct policy

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced in a press release on Wednesday that the league’s 32 owners passed a new personal conduct policy. This new policy will be placed under a microscope following the Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson situations earlier in the year. In an email to the public, Goodell had this to say. Today at a league meeting in Dallas, our teams unanimously endorsed...

Browns ticket prices up big after Manziel was announced starter

It’s finally time for Johnny Manziel to take over as the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns. Never underestimate the focus of a champion

After working for the Minnesota Timberwolves for six years, I got used to watching teams come into Target Center in Minneapolis, toy with the home team for 40 minutes and then finally get to the business of winning as the fourth quarter wound down. Teams turned it on like clockwork. It never occurred to me that such a thing took place in the NFL, but the Seattle Seahawks suddenly...

PETA to Nebraska: Punish player for killing raccoon

Gangwish was bit in the leg by a raccoon. One of the most bizarre stories of the year happened last Friday, when Nebraska DE Jack Gangwish tweeted that he tried taking a selfie with a raccoon, but the raccoon bit him in the leg, so Gangwish killed it with a wrench. Now, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals are getting involved. PETA is predictably upset with the way things...

Astros reportedly ink Luke Gregerson to three-year deal

The Houston Astros wanted a top reliever, a sentiment we questioned yesterday. Today, they got him, inking former Oakland Athletic Luke Gregerson to a three-year, $18.5 million deal. Luke Gregerson reaches 3 year, $18.5 million deal with Houston #Astros; becoming 3rd richest reliever in #MLB this winter. — Bob Nightengale (@BNightengale) December 10, 2014   The A’s acquired...
