Isaiah Pead Named 2012 Senior Bowl MVP
Isaiah Pead took a stutter step forward, then raced to the left sideline and traveled 60 yards up the field before finally getting tripped up by a leg tackle. The former Cincinnati running back followed that nifty punt return with a 38-yarder a couple of minutes later, late in the first half, to play a starring role Saturday in the North's 23-13 victory over the South in the...

Bearcats Year End Roundtable: with Down the Drive and Bearcats Nation Part 1
With the Bearcats 10-3 football season in the books, my good friend Matt, my mortal enemy Chris and I gathered around our respective lap tops and talked about the season. We talked about the highs, some lows, handed out some awards and generally had a good time. A couple of notes. We did this before the Liberty Bowl, so if you are wanting to read talk of that game, sorry. This was...

Cincinnati Bearcats: 2011 Exit Survey
When Butch Jones took the reigns of the Bearcats I'm sure he wasn't expecting to go 4-8 in his first year. Despite having the highest scoring offense in the Big East, other aspects of the game failed the Bearcats and they finished with just two conference wins. Fast forward to 2011 and Cincinnati returned more experience than any other Big East squad. But could they take...

Cincinnati 31 Vanderbilt 24
On Saturday afternoon, the Cincinnati Bearcats finished the year in style with a 31-24 win over Vanderbilt in the Liberty Bowl. Cincinnati ended 2011 with a 10-3 season. It was a season that started with smiles and ended in smiles. That's really all you can ask for. Bowl games may be completely meaningless in general, but there was 1 that mattered this season and it was the Liberty...

Big East Football: Liberty Bowl Win Caps 10-Win Season
The Cincinnati Bearcats did something only four other teams in the history of the school have ever accomplished. That is win 10 games in a season.
A 31-24 victory in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl over the Vanderbilt Commodores enabled them to do that.
The group of seniors that will be graduating were able to accomplish the feat three times and the Bearcats have won ten or more games...

AutoZone Liberty Bowl: Zach Collaros' Comeback Sparks Bearcats
In the grand scheme of things, Cincinnati's match-up with the Vanderbilt Commodores in the 2011 Liberty Bowl didn't mean a whole lot. The Bearcats were going for their 10th win of the season and their first bowl victory since 2007. For a program that is two years removed from back-to-back appearances in BCS games, that's a little "meh."
