Inside the boxscore: FSU 68, Georgia Tech 54
1. Pierre Jordan, otherwise known as Chris Singleton's best friend, spent three years at FSU. Taking advantage of the two-year-old transfer rules that allow graduates to transfer without sitting out, Jordan and FSU parted ways amicably and Pierre enrolled at Georgia Tech where he is now a graduate student. Unfortunately, for FSU, the story didn't end there. Pierre Jordan...

M. Basketball. Midterm Grades
Brian Gregory was fairly candid Tuesday in talking not only about Georgia Tech's basketball game tonight at Florida State, but some of the shortcomings that his team struggles to overcome.Painful as it sometimes has been to watch the Yellow Jackets play through this transition season, the head coach, his staff and players keep plugging away with the hope that there will be a...

UNC 93 Georgia Tech 81
That is how a Final Four contender should handle on overmatched opponent in a home game. UNC came out and dominated the Yellow Jackets for 20 minutes pushing out to a 20 point lead then cruising through the second half make liberal use of the rotation. UNC was in complete control throughout the game, no one was injured and Kendall Marshall played 31 minutes. It was a win in every...

Georgia Tech struggling without true home court
Few fans are showing up to see Georgia Tech, which has fallen to last place in the ACC in its season without a true home court.
Only 5,009 saw Georgia Tech's 64-49 loss to Miami Tuesday night at Philips Arena, one of two temporary home courts this season while the school's on-campus arena is being rebuilt.
There was a solid turnout of more than 9,000 for a visit from Duke. Attendance...

Georgia Tech-Miami wrap
Some thoughts from the Georgia Tech loss to Miami Tuesday night.
1. Offense is really, really struggling right now. Effective ball movement isn’t there, and the guards are having trouble creating off the dribble, which means not a lot of easy shots. As I wrote in the game story, Tech’s rate of assisted baskets (if that is the correct term) is lowest in the ACC at 46.4...

M. Basketball. Jekyll & Hyde Yellow Jackets
Brian Gregory can commiserate, sort of, with Jim Larranaga inasmuch as the Miami coach is in his first season with a new program and like the Georgia Tech coach he's spending more time sifting through fluctuations than he'd like.

Georgia Tech-Virginia live blog
Greetings-
Hope all are well and ready for Game No. 18 of the Brian Gregory era. A friend asked me if I thought Georgia Tech will get into the 50’s. Virginia is No. 2 in the country in scoring defense at 51.1 points per game and has had a week to stew over its loss to Duke and get ready for the Jackets, who, as you might remember, managed just 50 points in its 61-50 loss to Maryland...

Physical Prep
Bennett Ball can drive you crazy and leave behind pulp if you soft-peddle, and Brian Gregory knows that as well as anyone. So, the Georgia Tech basketball coach is lecturing about Virginia, an upcoming opponent that can work with a jackhammer-ish diligence.Cavaliers coach Tony Bennett's boys do what they do without much deviation from one game to the next beyond how well they...

Cremins congratulates Gregory on first ACC win
Georgia Tech coach Brian Gregory said Friday he didn’t get caught up in the moment of his first ACC game last Sunday against Duke or his first ACC victory, Wednesday against N.C. State.
“I know how lucky I am, but at the same time, I’ve got a lot of things that are much more consuming for me than to take a step back and say, ‘Wow, I just coached against Mike...

Georgia Tech rebounding after tough start
RALEIGH, N.C. --- Forget the Alabama game, thats in the past. At least thats how Georgia Tech sees it.
The Yellow Jackets were creamed at home by the Crimson Tide just more than a week ago, but that game is so far in their past, they barely even identify with it now.
I was not happy with our performance against Alabama in terms of our dedication and commitment to playing the way...
