Big men give Rebels a chance in SEC play
Mississippi isn't very good at shooting 3-pointers and even worse at the free-throw line, serious flaws that have made scoring points a struggle during stretches this season.
But the Rebels do have some muscle - and they like to flex it.
That's been enough to keep Ole Miss (13-6, 3-2) in the top half of the Southeastern Conference going into Thursday's home game with...

Ole Miss Basketball Team Needs To Rearrange Their Bench
The Ole Miss Rebel basketball team is not very good. Things are so bad in fact that their players have found a way to humiliate the team while sitting on the bench. Check out this embarrassing photo captured during Saturdays double OT loss to Auburn. Thanks to full-time bench players SHORT, WHITE and COX for this classic photo. People say a picture says a 1000 words, well this picture...

PHOTO: Ole Miss Players -- "Short White Cox"
Now it's HIGHLY UNLIKELY that these Ole Miss players, Steadman Short, LaDarius White, Demarco Cox, planned on sitting in this order on the bench, but surely had the coaching stuff known what would be spelled out, as that sat, they would have probably changed the sitting arrangement.Pretty funny though.

Hope for Ole Miss After Florida Loss
For 20 unbelievable minutes, Ole Miss was one of the best basketball teams in the country last night. At one point they led No. 13 Florida 20-4. At halftime they were 10-for-10 from 3-pt range. It was incredible, but you knew it couldn't last. You knew that didn't you? You knew. And it didn't. The Rebels were the opposite of hot in the second half, returning to the form...

Murphy Holloway to the Rescue
At the moment Ole Miss needed him the most Murphy Holloway was there, and he brought with him 19 points and 14 rebounds. Holloway, a step-up 18-point performance by Nick Williams, and a rebounding advantage of 48-26 were the difference for the Rebels as they surprised everybody, not least of all me, with a 71-63 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks. These are the same Razorbacks that...

As expected, Ole Miss chalked up its eighth win this afternoon, easily handling Mississippi Valley State 80-56, but the highlight of the day was the debut of heralded freshman LaDarius White.
White, who had been held out the first eight games to complete NCAA academic requirements, proved he was worth the wait when he checked in early in the first half, quickly finding...

No. 18 Mississippi St. falls to Mississippi, 75-68
Mississippi State's won a lot of games and built quite a resume so far this season.
One of the few blemishes is the lack of a Southeastern Conference road victory.
The 18th-ranked Bulldogs came up empty once again Wednesday night, losing 75-68 to rival Mississippi at Tad Smith Coliseum.

Ole Miss Loses to Dayton
As somewhat expected, Ole Miss traveled to Dayton, without injured Murphy Holloway, and lost, 62-50. The Rebels shot just 38-percent from the field, were 1-for-10 from 3-pt range, and 11-for-21 from the free throw line. In short, Ole Miss just didn't play well because, it may be time to face it, they just aren't that good. Ole Miss is now 9-4 and riding a three-game losing...

Mississippi's strength lies in its frontcourt
It's been awhile since Andy Kennedy could look his best players in the eye.
