Doug Marrone, Master of Puppets

Paulaus
Behold: Doug Marrone, Syracuse football coach. You may know him better by the title most longtime Saints fans gave him when he coached in New Orleans, "Who?", but you know who we mean: the man who named Greg Paulus as starting quarterback at Syracuse for the opening of the...

Syracuse football -- ugly uniforms, uglier play

What is going on with Syracuse University football? Not only do they have quite possibly the ugliest uniform in the history of college football, they really, really stink on the field.

'The Express' Invents Racist-Filled Game at West Virginia

Bigern
It's hardly news, of course that a movie that's "based on a true story" would fudge some facts, much less a historical sports movie (Sure, the Titans won a playoff game on a last-second, 80-yard reverse. Sure they did). And hey, why not, right? If we already know...

Syracuse's Greg Paulus experiment getting 'uncomfortable,' but it's not dead (yet)

Doug Marrone is dealing with a mountain of problems going into his first bye week as a head coach -- Syracuse is 1-4 against I-A competition after Saturday's loss to West Virginia, 0-2 in the Big East and after the initial optimism of a new coach, a new quarterback, a close call...

Another quote from Greg Robinson that makes you wonder

As I do most every Monday, I begin to re-piece together what the Saturday's game brought me.

Ernie Davis the Forgotten Hero

Great story about former Syracuse great Ernie Davis, who once won the Heisman and broke Jim Brown's old records. Too bad his story is forgotten by most.

SU and Pitt coaches on the "same boat", or not

Reading around the internet I found this article from the Pittsburgh Post Gazette that talks about how SU's Greg Robinson and Pitt's Dave Wannstedt are on the "same boat".

Prospect Watch: 2010 NFL Draft, Arthur Jones

Another press conference, another wild statement

I just read the Greg Robinson press conference from today. It is posted at the Daily Orange blog (a daily must stop for SU fans). You can read it all, it is worth it if you into things like that, which I am.

Orange Travels to Battle Huskies

Syracuse_v_penn_c978
There are plenty of storylines to follow when the Orange football team closes the 2009 season at Connecticut on Saturday, November 28 (12:00 p.m., BIG EAST Network), including the defense, which ranks ninth nationally against the run, quarterback #Greg Paulus# attempting to set the...

Greg Robinson's word association is: Hot Seat

I was flipping through the channels today, there are always such bad shows when holidays are upon us. But nevermind the TV listings, let me go back to this blog. As I flipped on some gameshow it was a type of word association, so I began to think about one when it comes to Syracuse football.

Syracuse University's Baltimore-Washington Connections

With all the athletic talent Syracuse finds in DC and Maryland, you would think the Orange had a satellite campus in Arundel Mills Mall.

Robinson is gone, let's the chaos begin

It is now the end of the line for Greg Robinson, and while it happened yesterday, we all knew it would happen. Some, like myself, thought it was 2 months overdue, some might think yesterday was too early, but for sure most knew it was the thing to do this year.

SU Leads Rutgers, 14-0, After One

Syracuse leads Rutgers, 14-0, after the first quarter. Graduate student quarterback Greg Paulus and sophomore quarterback Ryan Nassib have combined for 4-of-4 completions for 5- yards, while sophomore running back Antwon Bailey has five carries for 61 yards and one touchdown. Sophomore...

ESPN shows how bad Syracuse football is

Congratulations to Greg Robinson and Dr. Gross. You both were featured on College Game Day on ESPN. But do not think it was a pretty picture that they painted of you, or the program.

It is time for Greg Robinson to go!

As usual, the first thing I do the day after a game is head over to read "Sorting through the Rubble" by the Axeman (on Syracuse.com) to see what he says of the loss game and what little tidbits he might have through (what he calls) his spies.

There is only one "Farewell Tour" shirt!

As a member of the blogging community for Syracuse sports I try to follow the sports I like and I also try to follow the blogs for SU I like. One of them, which I have mentioned many times in here, is the Three Idiots on Sports.

Todd Marinovich's Half-Brother Would Like to Show You His Pistols

In his debut for Syracuse this afternoon, QB Greg Paulus threw a fatal interception in OT that cost his team the game. Luckily for the Orange, they've got a couple of spare guns on their defensive line. Pictured is Mikhail Marinovich, current defensive end for Syracuse, younger...

Syracuse does realize Greg Paulus is a football player now, right?

The Greg Paulus, Syracuse Quarterback train, as you might have expected, is rolling on apace with little to no regard for the probable realities of the situation on the field. While Paulus attempts to rediscover his high school football prowess and somehow translate his old Duke basketball...

PITT DROPS 54 ON BUFFALO; PSU CRUSHES SYRACUSE

0d
It's not often that you can surrender 500 yards on defense and still win a game by 27, but that's exactly what the Pitt Panthers did in a 54-27 win over Buffalo. The Panther D was torched by Buffalo QB Zach Maynard to the tune of 400 yards and four TDs; however, Pitt was packing...

What about the rest of the season?

Well, it's still true. I checked again this morning and Syracuse really had beaten Louisville. You have to believe that for a team like the Orange and for their head coach this must feel really good. A win, a Big East conference win, something that hasn't come along too many...

Robinson went for it and should be praised for it

If you go over to syracuse.com there is an article from Donnie Webb, titled: "Robinson: No regrets passing up a field goal to go for a touchdown". I applaud this, I think that (way too late) this is what the fan base at SU wanted from the man who was replacing Paul Pasqualoni.

Brent Axe on OTL talking about SU football

Let's add another piece to "the nation knows how bad Syracuse football is". As I sit at the computer I am listening to a commercial on ESPN, and why is it important? Because once that commercial is over Over The Lines (OTL) is going to air a piece about how bad the gridiron...
