Penn State Slaps Paulus, Syracuse

Valero_alamo_a932
Our PSU correspondent Alison writes in with her report from Happy Valley. Well at least we know Sean Lee is back. The linebacker made 13 tackles in the 28-7 victory against Syracuse in their first visit to Beaver Stadium since 1990. Lee played...

Clemson looking at Kiffin, maybe

Don't look now but Lane Kiffin is being mentioned in articles when it comes to the Clemson job. How does that strike you now? And if you say surprised than you are not following college football too much.

'Cuse breakdown with Orange::44

Penn State hosts the Syracuse Orange this weekend, in what's been dubbed "Classic Day" by the folks in charge of marketing. Cute, but I'm more concerned with what's going down on the field, not in the stands. Penn State and Syracuse have played 69 times, as the...

New comish in the BE doesn't mean new happenings, for now

In a story that is pretty old and I didn't think about much (due to problems in real life this week), I am going to touch on today. The Big East has a new commissioner, and he is John Marinatto, who has been serving in the conference as the senior associate comish since `02.

Another interview with "Da Beat of N.Y."

With the second win of the season Syracuse did look good Saturday at the Carrier Dome. I am saying that, most all of the bloggers and main stream media that follow SU are saying it, but the key question in this blog is going to be "what is "Da Beat of N.Y." saying about...

Some thoughts about Robinson and the future...

Well, the bye week came and went, Greg Robinson is still the head coach at Syracuse, Dr. Daryl Gross is still the athletic director and this Saturday the Orange will (probably) lose again. Guess some things never change, do they?

The Top Seven "I remember about Robinson"...

On my other site, The Fifth Corner, I did "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" about the football team. But, after the great job that Brent Axe over at his popular site did a heck of a job with his run down for the first half of the season, I figured that I do something different.

Another interview with "Da Beat of N.Y."

With a defeat that truly left a bad taste in my mouth and a long weekend, I left my good friend "Da Beat of N.Y." rest for an extra day before hitting him up for some after thoughts to Saturday's game.

The Express wasn't as fast as some would have liked

As the movie "The Express" comes out check out Sean's (at Troy Nunes is an absolute Magician) detailed account of it, as well as his vote of the movie (both as an SU alumni and as a screen writer). But also check out what the Daily Orange is reporting about it (from West Virginia).

Someone has to step up!

The bye week came and gone, the weekend is close to finishing and guess what? Greg Robinson is still the man heading the football program and will probably do so for the rest of the year.

When you pass the line...

Well, I been waiting a bit, had to make sure I was correct in seeing that Antown Bailey, the young man inserted into the game tied and the Panthers gaining momentum, had never been on the field yet.

Head coach Robinson shoots off another wild statement

A couple of days ago there was an article with the following title: Big East Notebook: Robinson still has Orange's support".

Another interview with "Da Beat of N.Y."

One time I am going to be able to get a hold of "Da Beat of N.Y." after a win, probably next week as the Orange play a Division IAA team.

One question, but so many doubts

I know that if you read my blogs about head coach Greg Robinson you are thinking that I don't like the guy. You are wrong. I actually think he is a nice guy. Would love to go out to dinner with him and chit chat, would love to have him as a neighbor, would love to be his friend...

Congrats to the Axeman!

have to do a "Quick Hit Post" to Brent Axe. Coming back from a commercial imagine the surprise I got when on my television I saw an ad about the Brent Axe show on ESPN Radio!

SU Football "Ups & Downs"; The Offensive Line

With about a week to go until Syracuse and Northwestern collide it is time for another edition of "Up & Down". This time we are going to focus on the offensive line.

SU Football "Ups & Downs"; The Running Backs

Well, today it is time to talk about a part of the Syracuse football team that should be good (if not better) in this upcoming season, the running backs.

SU Football "Ups & Downs"; The Quarterback

Yesterday I did the first of my many "Up & Down", talking about recruiting. Today I am going to hit on another part of Syracuse football, and touch on their quarterback, Andrew Robinson.

SU's version of "Deal or no Deal"

As I was going through the Syracuse blogosphere I found a cool blog from Sean (aka Troy Nunes is an absolute Magician) that was talking about what Bud Poliquin wrote about on Syracuse.com. And what was the article talking about? Season tickets for the Syracuse football season, and...

Could the SU receivers "seize the opportunity"?

I remember a long time ago a coach yelling onto the field to his offense "seize the opportunity". The game was close, and if the team could go down the field and score they would probably win the game. It was so long ago that I don't remember if the team did in fact ...

I don't like the newest marketing strategy for the SU football team

I have to say this: "I cannot wait to see the movie "The Express", about Ernie Davis." I think that the movie will go way beyond the achievements on the field of a running back that broke records as well as color barriers. I am all for the premiere to be held in...

What will it take to see Greg Robinson past next year?

As the 2008 season slowly comes closer and closer for the Orange football team, I have a question that I'm not sure anyone can answer for me. While I think four or five wins will keep head coach Greg Robinson around for the fifth year of his contract, what will it take to keep him beyond that?

by Jim HenryFiled under: SyracuseThis point guard WILL definitely play football. And he won't be coming off the bench either. Greg Paulus, who grew up in Syracuse, N.Y., and was a star quarterback at Christian Brothers Academy, was named the Orange's starting quarterback Monday...
