Vancouver Canucks forward Tom Sestito and Winnipeg Jets defenseman Anthony Peluso dropped the gloves 2:25 into the first period of Wednesday night’s game and gave the fans one of the season’s most exciting fights.
The two players traded powerful punches in a pretty lengthy bout before they tumbled to the ice. Sestito entered Wednesday’s slate of games with an NHL-leading 15...

When the going gets tough in the NHL, the Winnipeg Jets — and the Atlanta Thrashers before them — get, well, fairly average.
Doesn’t exactly get you fired up, does it?
In the last four seasons the Jets and Thrashers have been a combined five points out of a playoff spot at the NHL trade deadline. They have exactly zero playoff berths to show for it.
Winnipeg Jets defenseman Tobias Enstrom dove to keep the puck out of the net against the Colorado Avalanche. Managing to keep the puck out of the net with Erik Johnson that close to the puck is nothing short of a miracle. Winnipeg Jets defenseman Mark Stuart was just trying to break up a pass. Unfortunately for him, he slid right into his goalie Ondrej Pavelec and blasted him into the corner. Watching Pavelec roll over his defenseman’s back and yard sale is pretty hilarious, but it gave Ottawa Senators forward Erik Gryba a free goal. Not much anyone could do when it’s basically a 3 on 0 without...
Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dustin Byfuglien absolutely destroyed Los Angeles Kings defenseman Jake Muzzin with this hit that sent Muzzin flying into the Jets’ bench. I’m sure there were some kind words exchanged between Muzzin and the Jets’ players.

The debate of whether or not it was time to make a big move in Winnipeg continues to rage on, and Mark Stuart will continue to be part of that discussion after agreeing to tack on four more seasons for $10.5 million. Stuart's team-friendly $2.625 cap-hit starting next season means the Jets will have just under $52 million tied to 16 players, and with the cap expected to rise...
Los Angeles Kings defenseman Jake Muzzin got very well-acquainted with the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday.
Muzzin had just released a pass near the blue line during the Kings’ eventual 3-1 win when he was run over by Jets D-man Dustin Byfuglien — all 6-foot-5, 265 pounds of him.
Byfuglien hit Muzzin into the boards with such force that the baffled blueliner fell over backward and...
Marian Gaborik wasn’t disappointed that he didn’t get on the score sheet in his debut with the Kings, a 3-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night.
Gaborik was acquired in a trade with Columbus on Wednesday and skated on the top line with center Anze Kopitar and right-winger Justin Williams.
“We created some things,” said Gaborik, who logged 16:38 of ice time...
The Winnipeg Jets have come out of nowhere to within one point of the Dallas Stars for the eighth and final Western Conference playoff seed, but if they're going to get over the hump and make the post-season tournament, it's going to have to be without second-line centerman Mark Scheifele.Scheifele collided with New York Islanders' defenseman Calvin de Hann midway...

The New York Islanders escaped with a 3-2 overtime victory over the Winnipeg Jets at the MTS Centre on Tuesday night, and the disappointment of a home-ice loss left one classy female Jets fan with no other option but to issue up the dignified response of waving both her middle fingers at the Islanders bench. The Winnipeg Jets may have to move forward without Mark Scheifele for a while.
Though the Jets have not confirmed any updates to Scheifele's status, TSN Hockey Analyst Aaron Ward says early reports indicate he suffered an MCL injury and will likely out 6-8 weeks.

Michael Grabner is widely believed to be the fastest player in the NHL for a good reason.
On Wednesday night during overtime, the Swiss right winger blew by Winnipeg Jets defenseman Zach Bogosian right through the middle of the ice, beating goaltender Ondrej Pavelec under his blocker. The goal was Grabner’s second OT goal of the season and 12th overall.
This Winnipeg Jets fan was not pleased with the New York Islanders win and was caught on camera giving the coaching staff the bird. It seems the Islanders coaching staff had a solid sense of humor and trolled her by pounding on the glass. Well done, guys.

There were apparently a lot of children at a recent Winnipeg Jets practice, and they all appeared to be big fans of defenseman Dustin Byfuglien. Especially the adorable waving kid down front. Those kids are going to be really disappointed if Byfuglien gets moved before this week’s trade deadline…

As far as Paul Maurice is concerned, the statistical analysis of Ondrej Pavelec should begin on Jan. 13, 2014.
That's when Pavelec played his first game under Winnipeg's new head coach, and since that date Winnipeg's starting netminder has posted solid numbers. He has a 2.35 goals against average and a .916 save percentage in 11 games, which are both much better than...
